Pharrell Williams to Replace Cee Lo Green on The Voice
Pharrell Williams is about to get even busier. The phenomenally talented recording artist and producer is joining season seven of The Voice, replacing Cee Lo Green as a coach on the popular competition series. NBC made the announcement via Twitter on Monday.
Pharrell has appeared on the show before as Team Usher's season four, battle-rounds mentor. But with the exit of Cee Lo Green, Pharrell will be a full-time coach, training his own team of hopefuls come fall. The Voice teased the addition of the "Happy" singer to its team by posting a picture of his now-famous Grammys hat on Twitter.
Pharrell retweeted the casting news, adding, "This is going to be so fun."
The multi-talented star had a huge year in 2013, with multiple Grammy wins for his work on Daft Punk's infectious track "Get Lucky" along with an Oscar nomination for writing and performing the catchy tune "Happy" from Despicable Me 2. Pharrell also produced and provided guest vocals on Robin Thicke's mega-hit "Blurred Lines."
Clearly, Williams shows no signs of slowing down in 2014.
