Beyoncé Donates $7 Million for Houston Housing Project
Beyoncé is putting her money where her heart is. The Houston native has donated $7 million on a low-income housing project in her hometown. Pastor Rudy Rasmus of St. John's United Methodist Church (where Bey used to sing as a child) said that the singer has donated millions over the years to help Houston's homeless. Her biggest contribution is a 43-unit apartment complex, which has been named Knowles-Temenos Place, that offers housing to low-income and homeless individuals.
"She's an incredible human being. Has an incredible heart and has been extremely helpful in our mission and our ministry here," Rasmus told Houston CBS affiliate station KHOU.
"She has a global platform and is doing some amazing work and I'm glad she's a friend of mine," he continued.
In June, she donated half a million dollars to Chime for Change, an organization focused on inspiring young women worldwide and helping them find their voices by sharing the stories of other strong women.
