While it's been more than a decade since T.I. lost his best friend and bodyguard, Philant Johnson, the legacy of Big Phil lives on. And that legacy begins and ends with Phil's family.  

On Tuesday (Aug. 22), Tip gifted Phil's daughter with a new car as she gears up for the impending school year. The "Live Your Life" rapper took to Instagram to share the special moment with fans. "See Phil... Our Loyalty lives forever!!!," Tip began his heartfelt caption. "She's been on hers & doing everything we can possibly ask her to do."

"Making straight As & maintaining a 3.8 GPA all the way through school, staying away from all the things we were eyeball deep into when we was her age, & doing any & everything that's EVER been asked of her since you left," he continued. 

The high school senior was only 5 years old when her father was murdered in 2006 after an altercation at a Cincinnati night club led to shots being fired into T.I.'s tour van. During the trial for Phil's alleged killer, Tip took the stand and described the chaotic scene inside the club that night and the difficulty in telling his best friend's daughter that her father had passed. Eleven years later, however, the two have fostered a nurturing relationship. 

"We may lose that battle but as long as she remembers what I told her," T.I. continued. "HER way, on HER terms, in HER time, or NO DICE!!!!"
