50 Cent Opens Up About Competitive Relationship With Jay-Z
In the race to be on top of the hip hop world, two frontrunners always seem to be vying for the spot. Jay-Z and 50 Cent have created empires in the game and it's no small wonder that the two multi-platinum rappers aren't exactly chums. Though beef between Jigga and 50, both New York natives and savvy businessmen, has been the subject of rumors for years now, recently 50 has been willing to open up about the reality of their seemingly antagonistic relationship. In an interview with MTV UK, the "In Da Club" star admits, "we are in the same business. We are not necessarily friends." In a bygone fashion, 50 (Curtis James Jackson III) says he and Jay, "use each other repeatedly for energy...It's not like we have something against each other to make us enemies." The two moguls continue to feed off of each other creatively and it seems where one makes an advance, the other is not too far behind. Most recently, for example, 50 and Jay both launched new websites to help expand their audience and brand.
