Family of Rich Homie Quan Releases Posthumous Video for ‘Song Cry’
Rich Homie Quan’s family released an emotional new music video to the late rapper’s posthumous single “Song Cry.”
Directed by MarcellJB, the video features scenes of the Quan partying and in the studio alongside heartfelt shots from his funeral, which was held at World Changers Church International on Tuesday, Sept. 17. The clip also includes appearances from Boosie Badazz and D.C. Young Fly and behind-the-scenes moments from Quan's interview with Funny Marco. It ends on a powerful note, with family and friends rapping his songs at the post-funeral gathering.
In the song, Quan is heard reflecting on the emotional weight of witnessing a friend’s death, grappling with betrayal, and masking his pain by smoking weed. It starts with, “Aye, this one here personal. I know a lot of my songs, y’all don’t take serious in a way, but I want y’all to turn this one up.”
