T.I. Confirms Yo Gotti Signed to Grand Hustle
Yo Gotti is the newest member of the Grand Hustle team. Gotti was rumored to be signing to the imprint, news of which T.I. confirmed during an interview with Vlad TV. "[Yo] Gotti has officially joined the gang," he said.
The Memphis native, Gotti — aka Mario Mims — was formerly signed to TVT Records. He dropped his Live From the Kitchen debut last year.
As the Hustle Gang continues expansion (possibly to include Compton's Problem, Houston's Kirko Bangz, Uncle Murda, Maino and an unknown Pittsburgh rapper named Hardo — "He kickin' that pain, you know what I'm sayin'? You can tell it's authentic," T.I. said), Tip is happy with the direction of things. "I'm very proud of it. I'm more proud of the Hustle Gang project than I am about mine, and that's because we're here to create opportunities," he explained. "We're a family more than a record label."
Hand-picking artists is a way for the father of six to pay it forward, "to create opportunities for people that have been supporting me for so long, and giving other artists the opportunity that I didn't have," he continued.
While growing a roster and cultivating talent is the goal, there's also potential for a huge payoff provided that T.I. can snag that $200 million recording contract he's hoping for.
The Hustle Gang crew dropped their G.D.O.D. mixtape last month.
