Rick Ross Responds To Ari Lennox Comments About Being Released From Her Label
Singer Ari Lennox has made comments about her music career and wanting to be freed from her label after a distasteful interview went viral last week. While there hasnāt been any word from Dreamville Records or J.Cole, the label Lennox is signed to, rapper Rick Ross reacted to the āBMOā singer in The Shade Roomās comments section.
āShe needs [Wing Stop],ā Ricky Rozay said with no further explanation. In case you missed it, the Richer Than I Ever Been rapper has had a longstanding partnership with the chicken wing chain for quite some time.
On Saturday (Jan. 22), Lennox went on a small Twitter rant before deleting her tweets.
āSM is a traumatizing unhealthy place,ā she wrote. āYou are only accepted here if [you're] perfect and seemingly happy at all times. When every single life knows thatās not realistic. People cry, people complain, people are mad in real life. I just never cared to be a fake [a** b***h].ā
Her comments seemingly came after the 30-year-old did an interview with South African podcaster MacG on his Podcast and Chill show, and was asked if someone was āf*****g [Ari] good right now.ā
āOh my god,ā she responded. āThatās a wild question. Why ask it that way? Whoa.ā
In the interview, Lennox said that she was caught off guard by the question, although MacG claimed that he was reiterating lyrics from her song āPopā off of her 2019 debut album Shea Butter Baby.
As the interview started to go viral on social media, Lennox indirectly addressed the situation and how she felt about it.
āIām just likeā¦why was I alone on a call full of people? Why didnāt anyone intervene?ā she wrote in a series of now-deleted tweets on Friday (Jan. 21). āAnd why wasnāt parts of the interview destroyed like the team promised? Why did it happen to begin with? I just feel slow and ambushed and blindsighted. Just because I happily and freely sing/write about sex donāt make any kind of creepy disrespect warranted. I clearly was in immense shock and hate that I didnāt react differently.ā
She then noted that she wanted to be dropped from her label before adding that the interview with MacG āwas the icing on the cake.ā
