Rich Homie Quan has officially been laid to rest.

On Tuesday, Sept. 17, family, friends, and fans came together at World Changers Church International in South Fulton, Georgia, to pay tribute to the rapper. According to reports, the memorial, open to the public and live-streamed, included musical performances and touching memories shared by his father, Corey Lamar, and siblings, Andre and Cekoya Munford.

“When I first held you, my life changed immediately,” Corey wrote in a statement published in the obituary. “I knew then that I had a purpose in life… Thank you for being the most amazing human being and most importantly, I think God for allowing me to be your dad. Until we meet again - rest in peace son.”

His mother, Tammie Morgan-Chism, added, “When man said I would never have kids, god blessed me with you, and you’ve been the anchor of my life from the beginning to the very end. Lord knows I’m grateful for the 34 years God allowed me to share you with the world. No more late nights and early morning talks, but the presence of knowing you are my personal angel is well with my soul.”

The obituary described Quan as a “miracle child” with a unique talent and deep passion for both baseball and music. A proud father of five, he was best known for hit singles like “Type of Way,” “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh),” “Walk Thru,” “Lifestyle,” and many others.

Quan, whose real name is Dequantes Devontay Lamar, died in Atlanta on Thursday, Sept. 5 at the age of 34. His cause of death is still unknown at this time, but according to medical examiners, they are waiting for “the completion of laboratory studies and microscopic examination of tissue slides.
