Nas has always stressed the importance of being involved in his children’s lives. The rapper is now claiming that his ex-wife, Kelis, is preventing him from spending time with their 8-year-old son, Knight Jones.

According to documents obtained by TheBlast.com, Nas is taking Kelis to court with hopes of establishing an official visitation schedule. The rapper said he’s attempted to “work cooperatively with Kelis over the years,” but the singer-turned-chef only “allows him to exercise his custody with their son when she deems it convenient for her.”

Nas reportedly said his ex “refuse to set up time for our son and me to spend time together,” for months at a time.

Equipped with a plan, Nas came up with the following schedule that will allow him custody on the first, third and fifth weekend of every month. Nas proposed that his son spend Mother’s Day with Kelis, Father’s Day with him, and they each get to celebrate their own birthday with their son.

Nas and Kelis divorced in 2010 after 5 years of marriage.
