Spirit Fingers Or Nah? Ryan Destiny Shares Her Thoughts On Twitter's 'Bring It On' Remake Idea
Twitter recently went into a casting frenzy when nostalgic fans of the Bring It On franchise suggested another film be added to the bunch featuring Gabrielle Union reprising her role, with the addition of new face Ryan Destiny.
The excitement was sparked by one fan's tweet, which outlined a potential remake set years down the line. It would mark Union, former head caption of the Clovers, as the new coach and Destiny as the fresh captain.
After the tweet spread like wildfire, the Star actress took to Twitter, herself, to acknowledge the love:
Gabrielle Union even chimed in, poking fun at the "coach" casting and, instead, suggested more of a "Mama June" approach.
Well, Destiny recently spoke with Bossip where she shared her thoughts, in a bit more detail, on social media's voracity for the film to be produced, and it's safe to say she's not really feeling the idea.
"It just started blowing up on Twitter," she said. "Somebody just mentioned the idea and people ran with it and started making up their own little scripts and storylines and then me and Gab both saw it."
After mentioning that they were "entertaining the idea of it," she added, "I don't think we're going to go through with the Bring It On sequel, personally. I don't think so."
While she sees the film as "such a classic," the young star stressed, "I feel like cheerleading movies kinda died in a sense so it would be pretty hard to bring it back so I'd be nervous about it."
Fans who were hopeful about the idea coming to fruition shouldn't give up hope just yet as she ended her response with the words, "It's all about timing."
See how Twitter erupted with the idea that Bring It On could be making a comeback with the two beauties, below:
