Halle Berry Seeks Sole Legal Custody of Son

The “Union” star says that her ex-husband, Olivier Martinez, 'refuses to co-parent' in a 'child-centered way.'

The battle continues months after Halle Berry and her ex-husband Olivier Martinez agreed to “co-parenting therapy” with a coach.

According to reports, the “Union” star is seeking full custody of her son with the French actor. She accused him of not cooperating in their co-parenting relationship.

On Friday (Aug. 16), Berry requested sole legal custody of their 10-year-old son, Maceo, in the Los Angeles County Superior Court. In the legal documents obtained by PEOPLE, she is requesting custody, “or in the alternative, tie-breaking authority to make all decisions” about his education, health, and therapy needs.

These documents arrived a year after the pair finalized their divorce, nearly eight years after their 2015 split. At the time, they agreed to share joint legal custody of their son, with Berry paying Martinez $8,000 a month in child support and an additional "4.3% of any income she receives above $2,000,000."

Berry and Martinez tied the knot in 2013 and welcomed their son that same year.
