Target Taps Jason Wu for Next Designer Collaboration Line
Target has teamed up with Jason Wu, the designer who created First Lady Michelle Obama’s white chiffon inauguration gown, for its next major fashion collaboration.
The new collection will follow Target's line with Italian fashion house Missoni, which sold out in a matter of minutes and caused a complete frenzy among shoppers clamoring to get their hands on the pieces. So if you hope to get your hands on Wu's affordable range of limited edition apparel, handbags and scarves, you better mark your calendar! The collection will be available February 5 through March 6, 2012 at most Target stores and on Target.com. Price points will range from $19.99 to $59.99 for apparel and from $19.99 to $49.99 for handbags and scarves.
"My collection for Target embodies my signature aesthetic of feminine sophistication, with a mischievous nod to the 1960s," Wu said in a release. "I've had an incredible experience partnering with Target and I am looking forward to bringing these affordable designs to women across the country."
Wu isn’t the first designer that Lady O has worn that has done a more affordable line for the retail giant. Isaac Mizrahi, Cynthia Rowley and Proenza Schouler are all among fashion brands that FLOTUS has worn and have also produced lines for Target.
