People Went In On Kenyon Martin For Blasting Jeremy Lin's Dreads, But Forgetting About His Own Chinese Tattoos
Shortly after Jeremy Lin explained his thought process behind getting dreads, former NBA player Kenyon Martin blasted the Brooklyn Nets guard on Instagram, saying somebody needs to tell the Asian-American baller, "‘Alright bro, we get it. You wanna be Black.’ Like, we get it. But your last name is Lin.’”
Well, Lin clapped back, responding to Martin on IG, making sure to point out that the former forward has "Chinese tattoos."
"At the end of the day, I appreciate that I have dreads and you have Chinese tattoos bc I think it's a sign of respect," Lin said. "And I think as minorities, the more we appreciate each other's cultures, the more we influence mainstream society."
Lin's kind clapback about the Chinese tats drove Twitter into hysteria with these reactions.
Even though Kenyon Martin has since deleted his IG posts about Lin's dreads, here are his full comments
He clearly wasn't ready for Lin's clapback.
Lin responded on IG in this kind, but killer, message of his own
Got 'em!
And just for good measure, these are the 'chinese tattoos' on Martin's arm that Lin was referring to
