Olympian Love Story: Get To Know All About Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield’s Relationship

On Sunday (Oct. 13), the Team USA star shared the news in an Instagram video, announcing that he had proposed to Bromfield the previous day. The video, set to a cover of Bobby Caldwell's 1978 song “What You Won’t Do for Love,” showed the couple walking into a decorated house while holding hands. A neon sign reading “Will you marry me?” lit up the area as the couple, surrounded by family and friends, shared a special moment. Bromfield wore a silver dress, while Lyles wore a black suit with gold details.” To My Future Wife I Will Love You Forever,” he wrote as the caption.

In her own Instagram post, Bromfield, who runs for Jamaica's team and won a bronze medal at the 2020 Olympics, shared her excitement, writing “ENGAGED” alongside a clip of her showing off her sparkling ring.

Lyles and Bromfield first crossed paths in 2017 after Bromfield sent a direct message to Lyles. Though their first date didn’t go as planned, they kept in touch and reconnected in 2022, which led to their growing relationship. The couple now lives together in Florida, where they train for the Olympics. During an interview on the “Fast Lane Lifestyle” podcast, Lyles expressed the depth of his commitment to Bromfield, saying that once he's in a relationship, he's all in. “Whenever I get in a relationship, I’m very serious,” the 27-year-old said. “We’re going to grow old together, and it’s going to be forever.”

This past summer at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Lyles won gold in the 100 meters, marking the first time an American man had claimed the title in two decades. It was also his first Olympic gold medal of his career.
