Hip Hop Awards 2024: Soulja Boy Brings the Hits and the Hype at the ‘BET Hip Hop Awards’ 2024
Soulja Boy had the crowd on their feet at the “BET Hip Hop Awards” 2024. The event, held on October 8 in Las Vegas, Nevada, aired on October 15 and brought together many of the biggest names in hip-hop.
The 18th annual award show, hosted by Fat Joe, saw him introducing Soulja Boy to the stage, where the audience erupted as he took them back in time with some of his biggest hits. Kicking things off with his 2007 debut single, "Crank That (Soulja Boy)," the Atlanta rapper was joined by dancers who recreated the iconic moves that once had the internet in a chokehold.
He then kept the energy high as he transitioned into his 2008 track "Turn My Swag On," with the crowd singing along. The performance wrapped up with a surprise appearance from Roscoe Dash to perform their 2010 hit "All The Way Turnt Up," Roscoe's debut single, giving fans a moment to remember.
Soulja Boy recently made headlines after claiming he was the first rapper to fly a plane, posting a video on Instagram over the weekend. In the clip, the "Kiss Me Through The Phone” hitmaker is seen in the cockpit beside a pilot, saying, "It’s your boy Soulja Boy. You know what’s going on. I was the first rapper to fly an airplane. Let’s go. We about to get in the air. You ready to do this? Let’s do it.”
The post caught the attention of Ludacris, who previously made headlines in 2021 for flying a plane. In response to Soulja Boy's claim, Luda dropped a confused emoji in the comments, hinting at some doubt. After seeing Luda’s video, Soulja Boy admitted, "I just saw your video. You did it first."
