Family Of Brutally Slain Philadelphia Mother Of 6 Create GoFundMe, Seeking Help
Family members of Ashley Lockhart, the victim of an extremely violent slaying, are looking for help to handle her funeral expenses and have established a GoFundMe account for donors to contribute.
Lockhart, 32, a West Philadelphia mother of six, was found Saturday morning with multiple stab wounds inside a minivan with a knife still lodged in her skull. She was mother to six daughters ranging in age from 8 years old to just 5 months old. Her fiance’ Raymond Thomas turned himself in less than an hour later, according to CBS Philadelphia. He was charged with murder and with “possession of an instrument of crime.” Lockhart’ had a valid Protection From Abuse order against Thompson, although they were reportedly still living together.
In the wake of her killing, family members of the slain woman are asking for financial support to help her daughters who have been left motherless.
“They are returning to school in a few short weeks, and their everyday essentials are important for us to make sure they aren’t lacking, as Ashley did,” the page states. It also describes Lockhart as “an amazing Mother, dedicated working Mother and devoted Mother” who “loved all of her children and devoted her time energy and made sacrifices for them that they will forever remember.”
The page has raised more than $53,000 so far, exceeding the $30,000 ask for donations and remains open with more than 1,500 donors.
Lockhart reportedly referred to her daughter as her “6 Charms,” her family members have said that “all proceeds will go towards costs and needs for the girls only.”
