Dallas Maverick Shawn Marion Is Ready to Tackle Reality TV
Dallas Mavericks forward Shawn Marion has an interesting offseason plan.
Problem is Marion’s plan to work on a reality television show about himself and the women in his family will have to be put on hold for a while longer; the Mavericks advanced to the NBA finals Wednesday night. Marion told the media about his plan Wednesday morning, reiterating that nothing will be done until the Mavs take care of business in the playoffs.
“It’s not until after the season,’’ Marion said in the Dallas Morning News. “Right now, we’re focused on one thing. It’s going to be after. And I don’t even want to talk about that right
now.’’
But Marion did just that Wednesday, offering a glimpse into what the show will be about. It sounds like it will be a step up in class from the popular Basketball Wives Show.
The show, for the moment called, “The Ladies in my Life,” would feature him and the women involved in his day-to-day life: his mother and sisters.
“It’s just me, predicated about my life, about my mother, my sisters and me being single,’’ Marion said. “And how I help single mothers. My foundation is for single mothers. It’s a little bit of everybody.’’
Marion, also known as The Matrix, has never come off as the most interesting person, though being part of the team that wins it all could definitely enhance his profile and encourage a network to pick the show up. But let’s also be honest, his show may be a nice departure from what we’ve seen from NBA-themed reality shows so far.
