The UFC isn't waiting to deliver the rematch fight fans want to see.

UFC President Dana White confirmed with the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday that the Ronda Rousey-Holly Holm rematch has been set for July 9 in Las Vegas. This announcement comes less than a month since Holm brutally knocked Rousey out in a stunning upset in Australia.

Originally, Holm's camp had expressed the desire for her to defend her newly won UFC bantamweight championship against top-ranked contender Miesha Tate in the interim period, but White has said that Holm will wait until July 9 for the rematch with Rousey.

“Holly’s used to staying active. We’re from the old school and we believe the No. 1 contender is there for a reason," Holm’s manager, Lenny Fresquez, told the L.A. Times. "[Tate] deserves a shot, but it’s not for me to decide.”

White's sarcastic response? "We're real concerned with [Fresquez's] opinion."

Still, as bad a beating as Rousey took, is just over six months enough for her to be ready for a rematch? Fresquez is iffy.

“I’m not sure Ronda will be ready for a July fight,” he said. “She took a severe beating and I don’t think it’s in her best interest to take the next fight so fast. They told me she’s been ready and cleared, but …”

While some of that might be gamesmanship from Holm's camp, Rousey herself acknowledged how badly hurt — emotionally and physically — she is from her first loss.

Earlier in the week, she told ESPN The Magazine that she's "really f**king sad" and "it might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact."

Even though the UFC is giving fans what they want to see as soon as possible, does this rematch feel rushed?
