Supreme Court Upholds Routine Jailhouse Strip Searches  - The United States Supreme Court, by a 5-4 vote, ruled last week that people arrested for a minor offense may be subjected to invasive strip searches, citing the need for security over privacy rights. In its ruling, the court rejected the case of Albert Florence, an African-American man who was arrested for an unpaid fine and was forced to undress and undergo a strip search in 2005.
