Although it is the last day of #BlackBusinessMonth, that doesn't mean you shouldn't support these Black-owned businesses yearlong.

For those who didn't get the memo, August is National Black Business Month—a time to celebrate and recognize the Black-owned businesses across the country.

At BET, we know that the importance of supporting Black-owned businesses goes well beyond putting money into the community, it also helps to keep the culture thriving with positive trends and influence.  

Although it is the last day of #BlackBusinessMonth, we highly suggest that you continue the movement and support Black-owned brands yearlong. Below, check out businesses that should definitely be on your radar as we head into holiday shopping months!

  1. Breiyon Collection

    Aina Brei'Yon's go-getter spirit inspired her to launch her brand, BreiYon Collection. Where fashion meets purpose and social responsibility, every design is strategically selected to breathe life into the wearers with thoughtful and inspirational messaging. 

  2. KIN by Kristine

    KIN by Kristine is a clothing line that specializes in trendy fashions available in sizes 14-26. Kristine Thompson created the stylish brand as a way to recognize that all bodies should be appreciated.  

    The KIN by Kristine collection is available on Nordstrom.com with prices ranging between $36.95-$83.95. 

  3. Shon Simon

    Shon Simon is an independent apparel manufacturing company that's owned and operated by a Black woman in the United States.

  5. OurGlass Custom & Boutique

    Shatava Lindsey is the mastermind behind the trendy and inclusive brand, OurGlass. The fashion house is most known for its S-3x sizing that celebrates every woman’s curves in a unique and alluring way. 

  6. SPERGO

    At 15, Trey Brown is already taking the luxury activewear business by storm. Created for go-getters, SPERGO is a gender-neutral appeal brand that features bodysuits, biker shorts, hoodies, joggers, boxer briefs, and accessories. 

  7. Bungee Brand

    Darrell Alston created Bungee Brand as a way to provide high-quality sneakers and apparel for both men and women.

    Haus of Swag is the brainchild of Houston-native and serial entrepreneur, Toni Grant. The costume designer and wardrobe stylist created the streetwear brand to celebrate women and girls of color...fashionably. 

  10. Fe Noel

    Inspired by her Grenadian heritage, Felisha “Fe” Noel created Fe Noel as a way to encourage women to dress up in vibrant colors and bold prints. 

  11. Sante + Wade

    Sante + Wade is run by bestfriends Shola Asante and Agnès Cushnie. The premium footwear brand offers all-inclusive shoes with sizes that range from 6 - 13.5 in either standard or wide fit.

    Created in 2003, Rashida Gurl is the go-to brand for finding fun and flashy earrings that are beautifully handmade. 

  14. LYS Beauty

    Since her start in the beauty industry as a makeup artist, founder Tisha Thompson has made it her mission to create clean beauty accessible for all skin tones, types, and textures. 

    As the first Black-owned and clean makeup brand to be sold at Sephora, LYS Beauty prioritizes creating vegan formulas with skin-enriching ingredients. 

  15. Àuda. B Beauty

    After recognizing the lack of health-conscious luxury nail polish brands, founder Samara Walker launched Àuda. B in hopes of also celebrating diversity within the beauty world. The first Black-owned nail brand to be sold in Nordstrom boasts vegan “gel-like” formulas that deliver rich and glossy color in two coats.

    With the goal of honoring melanin-rich skin, founder Diarrha N'Diaye created Ami Colé (pronounced ahh-mee, kOhl-Lay) to bring clean beauty standards to the forefront for melaninated customers. The products are free of paraben, fragrance, and alcohol and offer a universally flattering Light-Catching Highlighter that imparts a “my skin but better” glow that works well with or without makeup.

  18. Naturally Drenched

    Jamila Powell turned her passion for hair care into her latest business venture, Naturally Drenched. Encouraging people to embrace their beauty from the inside and out, the products are vegan, natural, and eco-conscious for all “curlfriends”.

  19. EADEM

    Utilizing Smart Melanin™ Beauty, founders Marie Kouadio Amouzame and Alice Lin Glover took over 25 variations to formulate the Milk Marvel Dark Spot Serum ($68), a product designed to address hyperpigmentation without lightening overall skin tone.

    Celebrating the beauty in everyone, founders Ashley Kennedy and Devin Pauley created Ashley Kennedy in hopes of simplifying the lash routine with lightweight luxury vegan lashes that provide all-day comfort.

  22. Glow by Daye

    Ranay Daye created Glow by Daye to help natural hair enthusiasts retain moisture and preserve hairstyles with premium silk products ranging from pillowcases, scarves, and silk bonnets.

  23. KNC Beauty

    After realizing that there were no natural lip masks on the market, Kristen Noel Crawley created natural collagen-infused lip masks to achieve a soft, kissable pucker. While KNC Beauty started with lip masks, it has since expanded to lip scrubs, lip balms, eye masks, and face masks.

    With the belief that women of color should have access to nontoxic beauty products, Alisia Ford launched Glory Skincare to champion that same sentiment. Making clean products accessible, the subscription box service personalizes skincare routines through a short quiz.

  26. Klur

    While volunteering in New Orleans after the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Lesley Thornton was introduced to the healing powers of aromatherapy. Sharing it with others, Thornton launched KLUR, a brand that advocates for eco-inclusion, sustainability, and community.
