The Jersey native graced the Amplified stage at this year’s ceremony.

Rising singer Honey Bxby debuted on the Amplified stage at the “Soul Train Awards” 2023.  The New Jersey native gave a dazzling performance of her smash single “Touchin.” Although she’s only been doing music seriously for a few years, Honey Bxby has already made significant strides in the industry. She released her debut EP, “3 Words, 8 Letters,”  and inked a deal with a major label. In honor of her performance, get familiar with the rising star with these five facts.

  • She held several jobs before pivoting to music

    Before dropping her debut EP, “3 Words, 8 Letters” Honey Bxby attended cosmetology school. She briefly worked at a strip club.

  • Her father is her biggest supporter

    Talking to Popdust, the singer revealed that her father played a significant role in her musical career.  “He would have me write music or he would write for me for me at such a young age, I’m talking 5 to 6 years old. He had me recording or singing for his friends and our family,” she shared. 

  • She has major vocal influences.

    In an interview earlier this year, Honey Bxby shared that she vocally looks up to singers including Keyshia Cole and Alicia Keys.

    Since her breakthrough, Honey Bxby has garnered comparisons to veteran Keyshia Cole. However, she told Rollingout, “I feel like a lot of people are only saying that because we’re both just girls that come from where we come from, say what we’re saying, and in the way we’re saying it.”

  • She’s already earned a record deal

    After releasing her EP “3 Words, 8 Letters,” on June 8th, Honey Bxby announced that she had signed to Rebirth / ART@WAR / Atlantic Records.
