8 Mile (2002) - Loosely based on Eminem's life before becoming famous, the film 8 Mile was meant to open the hip-hop megastar up to broader popularity (mainly amongst his fans' parents). The movie was rap music's equivalent of Rocky, focusing on a young, low income white guy trying desperately to overcome his slim odds to make it in a craft dominated by Black men. On the 15th anniversary of this hugely successful hip hop film, here's a look at the cast that helped Eminem rock the silver screen.(Photo: Universal/Getty Images)

Eminem - The film's lead, Eminem, starred as Jimmy "B-Rabbit" Smith, a poor, caucasian rapper struggling to overcome life's challenges to begin a hip hop career. Em didn't continue acting after 8 Mile, but he continued his multi-platinum selling music career. In 2005, he also checked himself into a drug rehab for an addiction to prescription medication. In 2010, he released the album Recovery, which spawned the number one hit "Love the Way You Lie" featuring Rihanna. (Photo: Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic for Bonnaroo Arts And Music Festival)
