Ten Possible Landing Spots for Andre Johnson

The NFL All-Pro wide receiver wants out of Houston.

Andre Johnson to Skip Texans Mandatory Minicamp - Don’t hold your breath looking for Andre Johnson at the Houston Texans minicamp. The Pro Bowl wide receiver will skip the Texans mandatory minicamp Tuesday-Thursday, his adviser and uncle Andre Melton confirmed with the Houston Chronicle on Monday. Last month, Johnson publicly stated that he’s unsure whether he wants to continue playing for the Texans, the only organization he has played for in his 12-year career.

Houston We Have a Problem - Andre Johnson headlined the list of no-shows on Tuesday's opening day of the NFL's OTAs (Organized Team Activities). Although the seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver has not disclosed the specific root of his discontent and has not formally requested a trade, he did say that he was going to skip the Houston Texans' OTAs. Johnson being a disgruntled worker isn't good news for the Texans, but it's great news to any NFL team desperate for a big-time possession receiver. In 2013, Johnson ranked third among NFL wideouts in receptions with 109 and seventh in yards receiving with 1,407, although he only hauled in five touchdowns. Still, at 32, Johnson remains one of the league's best wide receivers and one that another NFL team would probably love to have. Geno Smith - You're either built for it or not — being an NFL quarterback is not easy. Just ask Geno Smith. Although the media gave him a chance, as the New York Jets did, it only took a few weeks for things to unravel and the heat to get to the young QB. After starting the season 1-3, Smith cursed out a Jets fan and then got testy with reporters later in the week when they brought up his backup Michael Vick. (Photo: Andy Lyons/Getty Images)

New York Jets - Just as quick as the news spread of Andre Johnson skipping the Texans' OTAs on Tuesday, newly-acquired New York Jets running back Chris Johnson tweeted, "Let's bring Andre Johnson to the jets legooo." While we love the sound of a possible Johnson & Johnson attack — especially considering that one veteran with a chip on his shoulder is imploring his squad to sign another vet seemingly in the same predicament — the Jets landing the wideout would be most beneficial for Geno Smith. If the young quarterback can look to Eric Decker across from Andre Johnson, it would probably spell a quicker maturation process for Smith not to mention a very happy group of Gang Green fans. And if Geno still can't cut it with two great wideouts as weapons, the Jets can always place Michael Vick in the pocket. Win-win!(Photo: Andy Lyons/Getty Images)

Johnny Manziel Leads NFL Jersey Sales - Johnny Football has taken over the NFL. Johnny Manziel’s No. 2 Cleveland Browns jersey is currently the top-selling jersey in the NFL, the league announced as reported by ESPN. At this point in the off season, the rookie quarterback’s jersey has out-sold the likes of fellow quarterbacks Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks,  Colin Kaepernick of the San Francisco 49ers and Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos. (Photo: David Maxwell/Getty Images)

Cleveland Browns - If Johnny Manziel can win the Cleveland Browns starting QB job, he's going to need a reliable wide receiver to look to. The need for a seasoned pass catcher is especially amplified as a looming suspension awaits Browns wideout Josh Gordon for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy. The Browns landing Johnson would give Manziel a big possession receiver who could bail him out of scrambling dead-ends and move the chains at the same time.(Photo: David Maxwell/Getty Images)

Calvin Johnson Will Keep Dunking  - The NFL banned dunking on the goalpost following touchdowns, but try telling that to Detroit Lions Pro-Bowl wideout Calvin Johnson. Megatron told the Detroit Free Press, "I'm still going to dunk. I just won't touch the rim." (Photo: Leon Halip/Getty Images)

Detroit Lions - Complementing New York Jets running back Chris Johnson with Andre Johnson would definitely spell a formidable Johnson & Johnson attack. However, pairing Andre Johnson, a perernial top 10 NFL receiver, with Calvin Johnson, arguably the league's best wideout, would spell a Johnson & Johnson offensive explosion. New York Giants - The New York Giants bolstered their receiving corps by selecting capable wideout Odell Beckham Jr. earlier this month in the NFL Draft. Pairing him across the lines with Victor Cruz instantly strengthens the G-Men's offensive punch. But we love the idea of the Giants dealing receiver Rueben Randle to the Texans for Johnson. So would quarterback Eli Manning.  (Photo: Rob Carr/Getty Images)

Dallas Cowboys - Dez Bryant and Andre Johnson may very well be the most physical wide receivers in the NFL. The lure of forming that kind of imposing tandem of receiving weapons for Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo may just be too much for owner Jerry Jones to pass up. Get it done, Jerry — America's Team has to keep up with the Joneses! (Photo: Ronald Martinez/Getty Images)

New England Patriots - Guarded New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick doesn't show his strategic hand often, but the legendary football mastermind has shown a penchant for signing proven, grizzled veterans. Just look at his willingness to ink cornerback Darrelle Revis to a one-year, $12 million deal this past March. We have a feeling that Belichick would love to get his hands on Andre Johnson, who would in turn love to get his hands on as many passes from Pats quarterback Tom Brady. And the Patriots' plot thickens.(Photo: Jim Rogash/Getty Images)

San Francisco 49ers - When you've been knocking on the door of winning a Super Bowl the last few years as the San Francisco 49ers have, you don't want have a major overhaul. You just want to tinker a bit. Working with the latter premise, adding the 6-foot-3, 230-pound Andre Johnson to Anquan Boldin would give the 49ers two receivers who put the "smash" in smashmouth football. The addition just may be enough for Colin Kaepernick and company to finally get over the hump and bring the Vince Lombardi trophy back to San Fran. (Photo: Grant Halverson/Getty Images)

Baltimore Ravens - With all due respect to Torrey Smith and Jacoby Jones, the Baltimore Ravens receiving corps could use a shot in the arm. Sure, the offseason pick up of Steve Smith helps, but who better than a seven-time Pro Bowler like Andre Johnson to help put the Ravens back in serious contention? Fourteenth in yards per game with 245 last season, Joe Flacco would love to look to a receiver like Johnson in Baltimore often. (Photo: Patrick Smith/Getty Images)

Kansas City Chiefs - Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid has always been a heavy believer in dynamic NFL offenses. Now just imagine what he could do adding a big-time receiver like Andre Johnson to a Chiefs offense that already features awesome running back Jamaal Charles? Just the thought is scary. (Photo: Jed Jacobsohn/Getty Images)

Carolina Panthers - How about replacing veteran receiver Steve Smith, who inked a deal with the Baltimore Ravens, with another veteran — Andre Johnson? We are sure Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newtown wouldn't object. He can use the extra muscle and hustle to lighten up his own workload and perhaps let the Panthers prowl one step closer to the Super Bowl. (Photo: Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images)
