Howard Squashes Trade Rumors  - Rumors that Orlando Magic superstar Dwight Howard might leave the team to play alongside Kobe Bryant in L.A. have been swirling recently, but in an interview Monday Howard said he prefers to stay put. "I'm not trying to run behind nobody like Shaq or be behind somebody else," Howard said to the Orlando Sentinel. Better Than Jordan? - NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen, who played alongside Michael Jordan, said in a recent interview that LeBron James—not Jordan—is the greatest player to ever play the game. "Michael Jordan is probably the greatest scorer to play the game," Pippen said Friday on Mike & Mike in the Morning on ESPN Radio. "But I may go as far as to say LeBron James may be the greatest player to ever play the game because he is so potent offensively that not only can he score at will but he keeps everybody involved.”(Photo: AP Photo/Charles Rex Arbogast)

Should Kobe Have Had a Say? - Last week’s hiring of former Cavaliers coach Mike Brown to fill the Lakers’ head coaching position, vacated by Phil Jackson, raised a few eyebrows amongst fans with many thinking that team’s superstar, Kobe Bryant, should have been consulted first. And in retrospect, at least one team executive agrees. "Looking back on it, we should have contacted Kobe," team Vice President Jim Buss said in an L.A. Times interview. "Kobe said it was management's job to pick a coach. He just said, 'Defense first.' That's what we were doing, but we should have reached out to him." (Photo: Harry How/Getty Images)

NFL Coaches Want Strike Over - The NFL Coaches Association filed a brief with the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Minneapolis on Wednesday backing the players who are fighting to end the lockout and resume business as usual, according to the Associated Press. "To meet management's expectations, coaches need adequate time in the offseason to prepare their players for the season ahead," the filing said. "The lockout has already interfered with the coaches' offseason plans for their players, and each day lost in preparing for the season further diminishes coaches' opportunities to prove themselves and advance their career."  The strike has been going on since earlier in March. Mike Ditka (Photo: Win McNamee/Getty Images)
