Ice Cube as Doughboy - Fresh off the heels of his departure from the infamous hip-hop group NWA, Ice Cube made his acting debut as a sharp, thoughtful dope-slinging, gang-banging felon in John Singleton's first feature film. He has gone on to conquer Hollywood with the success of several films including the Friday franchise and the television series Are We There Yet? He made a major splash with the already iconic biopic Straight Outta Compton in 2015. Most recently, he is the voice of Superfly in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, which will be released in August. Nia Long as Brandi - Our first big-screen introduction to the beautiful Nia Long was as Tre's Catholic school girlfriend-next-door, Brandi. She flexed her acting skills and we would come to love her in films like Friday, The Best Man and Big Mama's House. Since then, she's gone on to star in several films like The Best Man Holiday, The Single Moms Club and Keanu, and the TV series Uncle Buck. In 2022, she reprised her role in The Best Man in The Best Man: The Final Chapters. This year, she starred alongside Eddie Murphy in the Netflix movie You People. Angela Bassett as Reva - Bassett holds her own in what wouldn't be the last time she played opposite Laurence Fishburne. She went on to star in classic Black films like What's Love Got to Do With It, Waiting to Exhale and How Stella Got Her Groove Back. Since then, she's starred in several films like Black Nativity and, most recently, Chi-Raq. She's also made her mark in television, having recently starred in the American Horror Story series.
