Living Single - At a time when Seinfeld dominated television ratings and pop culture, Living Single was groundbreaking. It was a prime-time network series portraying six Black 20-somethings trying to make it in New York -- come to find out, the creators of Friends copied The Living Single format. The show, which ran for five seasons, premiered 30 years ago today, so we decided to check in on the cast and see where they are now. Kim Fields - Already a household name when she assumed the role of would-be diva Regine Hunter in the series, Fields continued to appear on television in shows like One on One and HBO's The Comeback. But she really hit her stride behind the camera, directing episodes of such beloved shows as Kenan & Kel, Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns and BET's Let's Stay Together. John Henton - The Cleveland native dovetailed his role as handyman Overton Jones into a series regular role on UPN's The Hughleys, on which he starred for four years. Henton's life was nearly brought to a tragic end in 2000 when he suffered a major car accident that left his face deformed and his legs and stomach seriously damaged. Through extensive surgery, Henton's face was reconstructed and therapy helped his other injuries.
