Locked Lips - After a dangerous shooting in a NYC night spot, which involved Sean “Diddy Combs” and his then girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez, Shyne Barrow faced attempted murder, assault, and reckless endangerment charges for his role in the melee. On June 1, 2001, Shyne was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Shyne was released on October 6, 2009 after serving over eight years.

Jay’s scathing “Takeover” ignited Nas’ “Ether” to which many argue Jay was defeated. However, both put aside their differences and joined forces on Def Jam in 2006.
Perfect Nightmare - On February 8, 2009 moments before the 51st Annual Grammy Awards, Chris Brown and Rihanna were involved in a public domestic dispute. According to court documents and a leaked photograph, Chris severely beat Rihanna while the two were inside his vehicle. Since then, Chris had profusely apologized and is currently serving five years probation.
Heavy Armory - On October 13, 2007, moments before the 2007 BET Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta, T.I. was arrested and charged for illegally purchasing unregistered machine guns and two silencers in a Walgreens parking lot. TIP later pleaded guilty to U.S. federal weapons charges and turned himself in May 26, 2009. The rapper was released December 22, 2009.Not True - In 2004, Chris Stokes announced the parting of B2K. Initially, financial mishaps by Chris’ management company were cited as the reason for the split. In 2007, group member Raz B made video claims that Stokes molested members of the group and Marques Houston. Stokes vehemently denied the claims. Raz B and Stokes were spotted eating out together only days after the accusations.
