Pharrell, Robin Thicke and T.I. vs. Marvin Gaye's Estate - One of the biggest and longest-running lawsuits of 2015 was arguably the fight between the artists behind the hit "Blurred Lines" (Pharrell, Robin Thicke and T.I.) and the Marvin Gaye estate. Taylor Swift vs. Jesse Graham - Taylor Swift had a massive year in music, thanks largely to her smash first single, "Shake It Off." However, the mega hit ended up landing the singer a place in court with an R&B singer by the name of Jesse Graham, claiming she lifted lines from his song "Haters Gone Hate." Suing her for $42 million, Graham said that Swift used lines from his song in her 2014 hit and made bank off of his back. Justin Bieber and Usher vs. De Rico - Usher and his protegé Justin Bieber were slapped with a lawsuit back in 2013 by singer Devin Copland — stage name De Rico — who claimed that Justin ripped off one of his songs for his hit "Somebody to Love." Suge Knight, Ice Cube and Dr. Dre vs. the Family of Terry Carter - Even years after their peak NWA days, Dr. Dre and Ice Cube still got tied up in Suge Knight's mess. Lee Daniels vs. Sean Penn - Lee Daniels was served with legal papers from Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn after he compared him to Terrence Howard in the context of domestic violence. The Empire creator said that Howard shouldn't be viewed as a "wife beater" when other celebrities are given a pass. Kylie and Kendall Jenner vs. Island Company - The Jenner sisters, along with the PacSun brand, were slapped with a lawsuit in October 2015 by Island Company, a resort lifestyle retailer in West Palm Beach, Florida, over allegedly stealing Island's trademarked logo. The company has used their trademark phrase, "Quit your job. Buy a ticket. Get a tan. Fall in love.
