Initially slated to be a setup record for his debut, the song’s organic rise proved Wiz was a bankable artist and added sting to his already deafening buzz.

16.Nicki Minaj "Your Love" - Nick bounced back from the underwhelming "Massive Attack" with the saccharine "Your Love." The single received massive spins, became the first no. 1 single by a female rapper in eight years and put skeptics right back on Minaj's bandwagon.

11.B.o.B featuring Bruno Mars "Nothin' On You" - After paying dues in the underground for the past few years, Bobby Ray entered mainstream consciousness with “Nothin’ on You” featuring veteran songwriter Bruno Mars. The first of back-to-back Billboard smashes, the song spent several weeks at no. 1 and served as Mars’ introduction as an artist.

10.DJ Khaled featuring T-Pain, Rick Ross, Ludacris - No one does posse cuts like DJ Khaled. This time, the animated DJ recruited T-Pain, Ludacris, Rick Ross and Snoop Dogg for an ideal performance record. The song became Khaled’s fourth platinum single.

9.Cali Swag District "Teach Me How to Dougie" - This homage to Doug E. Fresh's '80s dance took a life of its own when professional athletes began doing it during pre-game rituals or in celebratory fashion after big plays. The Dougie consequently became the biggest hip-hop dance since Soulja Boy's "Crank That" phenomenon.

The track snuck onto playlists right as fans were expecting Alicia and Beyoncé’s collaboration, “Put It in a Love Song,” to take over the charts. Nicki Minaj later revealed that Drake wrote that song with her in mind— breathing new life into the song months after it faded from the charts.
