Attorney general wants out, and there's a bracelet for that.

In Case You Missed It - Republicans leave President Obama scratching his head; Ben Carson kind of blames the spread of measles on immigrants; one lawmaker thinks it's OK if your food service worker doesn't wash his hands after a bathroom break — and more. — Joyce Jones (@BETpolitichick)

Let Him Go! - Attorney General Eric Holder also is being held hostage as a result of the Senate's historic delay on the vote to confirm Loretta Lynch. Even Holder has joked about the irony of his Republican haters' unwillingness to let him go. In an effort to add a little levity to the situation, top aides, friends and other supporters are making a fashion statement with black rubber bracelets that read "Free Eric Holder." Former DOJ spokeswoman Adora Jenkins told the Wall Street Journal, "It’s ridiculous how long this has been going on and friends and supporters of the attorney general want to be able to show their support and also have a laugh.’’ (Photo: Courtesy of Department of Justice aide)

Was That His Professional Opinion? - In an article in GQ magazine titled "What If Sarah Palin Were a Brain Surgeon," retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson is quoted calling President Obama a "psychopath." The potential 2016 presidential contender made the remark in a conversation with chief adviser Armstrong Williams, who noted that the president was looking "elegant." Carson's response: "Like most psychopaths. That's why they're successful. That's the way they look. They all look great." (Photo: Molly Riley/UPI /LANDOV)

Happy Returns - On the occasion of the Affordable Care Act's fifth anniversary, Obama took a jab at the legislation's GOP lawmakers who are still trying to repeal it. "We have been promised a lot of things these past five years that didn't turn out to be the case — death panels, doom, a serious alternative from Republicans in Congress," the president said, drawing chuckles from his audience at a White House event.    (Photo: Alex Wong/Getty Images)

Ever Heard of COBRA? - Republican Ted Cruz has announced that he's running for president after two years in the U.S. Senate. The Texas lawmaker is most famous for engineering a partial government shutdown in 2013 over the health care law. And in a rookie move, he revealed that he and his family would be signing up for Obamacare. They had coverage through his wife's job, but she's taking a leave of absence during the campaign. The hypocrisy didn't escape Democrats. "Ted Cruz: Obamacare for me, but not for thee," joked the @SenateDems Twitter feed.     (Photo: Mark Wilson/Getty Images)

A Moot Point? - Both the House and the Senate passed budget bills before heading home for the holidays. Each would overturn the Affordable Care Act and make sizable cuts in the social safety net to balance the federal budget over the next decade. “Fortunately for the country, the Republican budget will not become law,” said Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, after the Senate's late-night vote-a-thon. Halfway Home - Former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. will complete the rest of his prison term at a halfway house in Washington, D.C. The ex-lawmaker pleaded guilty in 2013 to misusing $750,000 in campaign funds. "It's been an extraordinary journey," Jackson said when he left the Alabama prison where he began his two-and-a-half year sentence. "I've made mistakes. And I'm prayerful and hopeful that we're a country of second chances. That the American people and the people of the City of Chicago will consider me for a second chance."   (Photo: Win McNamee/Getty Images)
