“Flip Play” - Derek Jeter has generated many great moments throughout his 20-year career with the New York Yankees. However, his famous “flip play” on October 13, 2001 in Game 3 of the American League Division Series between the Yankees and Oakland Athletics might be his best ever. It took place during the seventh inning when Athletics Jeremy Giambi was signaled home from third base. Jeter cut off a relay throw along the first base line and back-handed flipped the ball to home plate to record an out of Giambi all in one motion. The kind of play legends are made of. (Photo: MLB via Youtube)

Dive Into Stands - Derek Jeter showed what he’s willing to do to win on July 1st, 2004, when he dove head first into the old Yankee Stadium stands to record an out on a fly ball. Yankees fans went wild when Jeter emerged from the stands, cut up and bruised, but with the ball in hands. Winning World Series MVP - All Derek Jeter did to win the 2000 World Series MVP was bat a red-hot .409, belt two home runs, cover 19 total bases and score six runs. What’s best is that he and the Yankees did it against their crosstown rival, the New York Mets, in a Subway Series for the championship. Jeter’s effort also helped the Yankees cap an amazing World Series three-peat and fourth title in five years. (Photo: Ezra Shaw/ALLSPORT)

Winning All-Star MVP - It’s not crucial to his resume, but Derek Jeter did take home the 2000 All-Star Game MVP trophy after going 3-for-3 in the Midsummer Classic that year. We bet Jeter, ever the team player, was much more happy about the Yankees’ World Series win that year.  (ELECTRONIC IMAGE)  AFP PHOTO/Steve SCHAEFER (Photo: STEVE SCHAEFER/AFP/Getty Images)

Speech to Close Down Old Yankee Stadium - Derek Jeter addressed the Yankees faithful on September 21st, 2008 with a heartfelt speech after the final game at the old House That Ruth Built. "From all of us up here, it's a huge honor to put this uniform on every day and come out here and play," Jeter said, as reported by the New York Daily News. "Every member of this organization, past and present, has been calling this place home for 85 years. There's a lot of tradition, a lot of history and a lot of memories. The great thing about memories is you're able to pass them along from generation to generation. “We're relying on you to take the memories from this stadium and add them to the new memories we make at the new Yankee Stadium." It’s only right that the Captain got the last word.  (Photo: Jim McIsaac/Getty Images)

Walkoff Homer in Game 4 of 2001 World Series - You know that Derek Jeter felt like the man when he walked through the MLB in Yankees pinstripes. He also must have felt like the man when he walked off, hitting a walk-off homer just past midnight on November 1st, 2001 in Game 4 of the World Series. It was the first time the Fall Classic was played in November and although Jeter and the Yankees would fall to the Arizona Diamondbacks, Jeets gave Yankee fans a thrill they’ll never forget. (Photo: Ezra Shaw/ALLSPORT)
