Kylie Jenner - The youngest — and currently the most controversial — of the Kardashian/Jenner clan posted a pic of herself sporting some fresh rows on Instagram over the weekend, and immediately caught heat for it. Recently, Hunger Games star Amandla Stenberg called her out for her appropriating Black culture, and started a social media feud with the reality star in the process.(Photo: Kylie Jenner via Instagram)

Kim Kardashian - Sister knows best? It's evident Kylie is slowly morphing into her big sis, who rocked this cornrow/braided look for a "hip pop" music video she shot with her now-husband Kanye West. The theme for the clip was "ghetto fabulous," completed with oversize furs and tinted sunglasses, of course. Just keep the appropriation going, girls!(Photo: Araujo / Splash News)

P!nk - Rock singer P!nk was once an R&B singer and famously rocked a short 'do, which resembled the looks of Nia Long and Toni Braxton in the late 1990s. P!nk is clearly someone who was inspired, but not appropriating. The pic above is P!nk at her urban best and at the Lady of Soul Awards in 2000.  (Photo: Steve W Grayson/Online USA)

Madonna - Madge has played with almost every look under the sun throughout her career so it's no surprise that an afro was one of them. In the music video for her 1992 hit "Deeper and Deeper," the pop icon sported a voluminous blonde afro. Did she rock it?(Photo: Warner Music Group)

Christina Aguilera - X-Tina is another non-African-American pop star who's built her career with experimentation. The former Mickey Mouse Club child star rocked this huge curly 'fro back in her "Lady Marmalade" days — remember the smash remake with Lil' Kim, Mya and P!nk? — and she seemed to like it so much that she kept it around for a while. We're not mad.(Photo : Chris Weeks/Liaison)

Justin Timberlake - The fellas aren't exempt. Before his "Cry Me a River" days, JT was in that "awkward boy-band fashion" phase, where he tried out the cornrows for a while. We don't think it's his best look, but, hey, it was the '90s.(Photo: Brenda Chase/Getty Images)

Kesha - Before pop star Kesha toned down her look and ditched the dollar sign from her name, she looked like this. Aside from the long, multicolored cornrows, she would wear heavy amounts of glitter, oversize sunglasses and plenty of acid-washed denim — like the female version of Riff Raff. We're just glad she's over this phase.(Photo: Cousart-Rayne/JFXimages/WENN.com)

Lady Gaga - Like Madonna, Gaga has experimented with her fair share of looks throughout her career. From wearing meat to walking on stilted platform shoes, Gaga even goes as far as to create her own fashions. However, it was this melodramatic dread loc 'do that had some giving her applause and others boos. What do you think? Did the "Born This Way" singer go a bit too far?(Photo: Stuart C. Jane Child - This one-hit wonder was almost unforgettable with her epic braids. Maybe because it was before social media, no one seemed to notice when the Canadian dance-pop singer rocked the fake braids in her 1990 hit song "Don't Wanna Fall in Love." We haven't heard from her since, though.(Photo: Warner Bros Records)

Vanilla Ice - This now-fallen MC capitalized on Black culture throughout his somewhat short-lived career. From high top fades to oversize 'fits, Vanilla Ice had the whole Black '90s rapper swag going for him pretty well. It was when he decided to switch to a different form of Black expression, dreadlocks, that made even his most loyal fans say, "Huh?" To this day, we're still wondering what he was thinking.(Photo: SBK Music)

David Beckham - This British soccer star is known today as Mr. GQ off the field, but once upon a time, he wore cornrows while showing off his fancy footwork. It doesn't look half bad, considering that he was beasting the field all day long. We see why Becks opted for cornrows — convenience and style in one neat package.(Photo: Ben Radford/Getty Images)

Gwen Stefani - During her No Doubt days, Gwen Stefani made African-American style bantu knots her signature look. While some of white America saw it as a revolutionary, members of the Black community knew Stefani was inspired by a look that goes back generations deep in the Black community. (Photo: GettyImages)

Rachel Dolezal - Aside from the fact that she pretended to be African-American for more than a decade, Rachel Dolezal received a lot of warranted backlash for rocking a "natural" wig to give her adopted identity some credibility. The race-faker has no immediate Black roots — both of her parents are white — but even her most vocal critics had to admit she nailed the hair!(Photo: Colin Mulvany/The Spokesman-Review via AP, File)
