So Not Funny: When Comedians Offend Celebrities

Our list of the top star vs. stand-up feuds.

Donald Trump vs. Rosie O'Donnell - What do you get when you put together a Republican loudmouth and a brash liberal? A war of words. Trump threw the first stone when he called O'Donnell a "bully," to which Rosie responded by implying Trump had a "weak grasp on reality." Don't expect these two to break bread anytime soon. Madonna Cusses Out David Letterman (1994) - Dropping more F-bombs than an episode of The Wire, Madonna lived up to her bad-girl reputation in Letterman's chair. She later explained her behavior was an attempt to take a stand against censorship, and the appearance became the most-watched in the talk show's history.(Photo: Courtesy CBS)
Milton Berle vs. RuPaul - Like oil and water, Milton Berle and RuPaul just don't go together. The unlikely duo were thrown together as co-presenters at the 1993 MTV Video Music Awards, and immediately clashed. RuPaul ad-libbed the line, “So you used to wear gowns, but now you’re wearing diapers.” A surprised Berle replied, “Oh, we’re going to ad lib? I’ll check my brain and we’ll start even.” Snap!(Photos from left:  Newsmakers, Frank Micelotta/ImageDirect)
Chelsea Handler vs. Nick Cannon - Chelsea Handler can give Kathy Griffin a run for her money when it comes to offending celebs, and she really lit the Wild 'N Out host's fuse when she tweeted, "I just heard Nick Cannon is starting a comedy tour. Who's going to do the comedy?" Cannon responded with a series of tweets insulting the E! host, including calling her "angry, ugly white trash." Madonna vs. David Letterman - These two know how to hold a grudge. After a 1994 appearance on the Late Show, during which the Material Girl offended her host with all kinds of lewd behavior and foul language, the two remained estranged for six years, until a more mature Madonna sat down with Letterman in 2000 to promote her album Music. She chalked up the incident to her "rebellious period," and they buried the hatchet.  (Photo: Courtesy CBS)
