Convicted of Incest - A former top aide to Martin Luther King Jr., is likely to spend the rest of his life in prison. James L. Bevel has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for incest. He was convicted earlier this year of having sex 15 years ago with his then-teenage daughter. Bevel, who recently was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, says doctors estimate he has six weeks to six months to live.

Mama’s Gonna Knock You Out - Pay thousands in child support or face jail time – that's the knockout punch Evander Holyfield's baby mama, Toi Irvin, may deliver this month. The ex-champ was ordered to cough up $4,500 in back child support on Sept. 1, and he still hasn't paid. Maybe that's why he's trying to get back in the ring – for a final payday.

Disappearing Act - A woman set to testify against Suge Knight mysteriously has disappeared. Police in Las Vegas told TMZ that they wanted to re-interview Melissa Isaac, the – presumed – ex-girlfriend of Suge, who he allegedly kicked, punched in the head and left naked on the side of the road back in August, but no one seems to know where she is.

Five More - Just as his boo, Marion Jones, is getting out of jail, former track star Tim Montgomery is preparing to room with murderers and pedophiles. He was sentenced to five years in prison, on top of the four he's already serving for check fraud, conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and distribution of more than 100 grams of heroin.

Secret Service Investigating - Once again, the Secret Service is looking into allegations that someone at a Republican political rally shouted "kill him" – referring to Barack Obama. The Scranton Times-Tribune reports the comment was made at a rally Tuesday for GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin in Scranton, Pa.

O.J. Feels 'Railroaded' - O.J. feels like he got a raw deal from the Vegas jury that convicted him of kidnapping and armed robbery. According to Simpson's lawyer, Yale Galanter, the ex-football star thinks he was "absolutely railroaded" and is hopeful about winning a new trial on appeal.

Seeking Mayor’s Post - He used to star for the Detroit Pistons. Now, Dave Bing is trying to become a political star in the city where he used to thrill basketball fans. Bing is among 18 people who are seeking to be mayor of Detroit in a special election next year. The winner will officially replace Kwame Kilpatrick, who has been sentenced to four months in prison for lying in court.

Watching Your Vote - On Election Day, most of us will be keeping an eye on voting results. But the NAACP will be keeping an eye out on the voting process, itself. The century-old civil rights organization says it will have lawyers watching 750 precincts around the country to help address complaints about possible voter disfranchisement.

John vs. John - John McCain is fire mad that civil rights veteran John Lewis has compared his presidential campaign to the atmosphere generated by segregationist Alabama Gov. George Wallace in the 1960s. McCain said Lewis' remarks carry more weight than those of a Virginian Republican Party leader who compared Democratic candidate Barack Obama to Osama bin Laden.

Get to the Roots - Tyson Beckford says most kids don't even know what's going on in Africa, and schools should teach African history studies. He says he'd "love for people to see the good side of Africa," which is why he's involved in the Africa Rising project. Solo Album - Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes has been dead for six years now. But next month, you will be able to buy a new album from the late TLC member. The album features a collection of songs Lopes recorded but never released. Proceeds from the album will benefit Lopes' foundation, which helped build orphanages and schools in Honduras. Lopes was killed in a car crash in Honduras on April 25, 2002.

Pushed Back?! - The dreaded PUSHBACK disease has hit yet another artist. Instead of Brandy’s highly-anticipated, comeback album, “Human,” arriving in stores on Nov. 11, the CD will be released on Dec. 9. There’s no word on why the LP is being delayed, but what we do know is that the album will be going up against releases from Ciara, Keri Hilson and 50 Cent.
