Malcolm-Jamal Warner as Dr. Alex Reed - Malcolm-Jamal Warner may be best known for his role as Theo Huxtable onThe Cosby Show. Malcolm is also a musician and director, having helmed episodes of The Cosby Show, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Kenan & Kel and Malcolm & Eddie, where he played "Malcolm McGee." Warner brings that same humor to Reed Between the Lines as Alex, an English professor, stay–at–home dad and husband.
Tracee Ellis Ross as Dr. Carla Reed - Tracee Ellis Ross segued into acting in the 90s, making her cinematic debut in the 1996 psychological drama Far Harbor, later making her biggest splash as Joan Clayton on Girlfriends. In 2007, Ross teamed up with writer/director Tyler Perry for the big-screen romantic comedy Daddy’s Little Girls. Ross plays Carla Reed, a highly successful psychologist, mother and wife on Reed Between the Lines.
Dr. Alex Reed: The Dad - Alex is an English professor at NYU, specializing in twentieth-century American literature. Alex is also a neat freak who loves sports, cooking and fine wines.
