Last Sports Championship - This scene of pitcher Bret Saberhagen being lifted up by teammate George Brett highlighted the last time the Kansas City Royals won the World Series in 1985. It also marked the last time that a Kansas City sports team won a major sports title. On the other hand, you don’t need to go that far back with San Francisco to note their last major sports championship. That’s because it was hard-hitting Pablo Sandoval and the San Francisco Giants who last brought the city a title with the 2012 World Series. Just two years ago. (Photos from left: Rich Pilling/Getty Images, Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images)

Most Famous Athlete - He might have delivered the Royals a World Series title 29 years ago in 1985, but George Brett remains a hero to Kansas City. Not only did he play all 21 years of his career with the Royals, but he owns more hits (3,154) than any third baseman in MLB history. He remains a big part of the franchise and KC community as the Royals vice president of baseball operations. What Brett is to Kansas City, Joe Montana remains to San Francisco. "Joe Cool" led the 49ers to four Super Bowl victories, three of which he was named MVP for. "Joe Cool"...as cool as the weather on a fall San Fran day and still a big touchdown with the city. (Photos from left: Focus on Sport/Getty Images, Mike Powell/ALLSPORT)

Most Notable Celebrity Fan - Actor and die-hard Kansas City Royals fan Paul Rudd made national headlines Wednesday by inviting fans to his mom's house to party following the Royals clinching their first World Series berth in 29 years.
