Africa Gets First Underwater Hotel - Accommodation for tourists in Africa has taken a new twist; Tanzania has become the first country in the region to boast of an underwater hotel room. The three-story Manta Resort on Pemba Island was built by Swedish developers Genberg Underwater Hotels and is situated on a floating island. Africa’s Child-Friendly Index - A report released this week, which ranks how child-friendly 52 African countries are, confirms that overall the region has become a better place for children than it was just five years ago. The findings in the African Report on Child Wellbeing 2013: Towards Greater Accountability to Africa’s Children were released by the African Child Policy Forum (ACPF).
