#PoorMichelle - Destiny's Child alumna Michelle Williams just can't seem to catch a break. The "Say Yes" songstress was made the butt of a social media joke when some mischievously funny admirer created the hashtag #PoorMichelle, poking fun at all of the moments that Williams was short chaged or allegedly ignored by her band mates. While social media found the joke hilarious, the singer was left unphased, tweeting in response, "#PoorMichelle that's not what my accountant said! Y'all be blessed now."(Photo: Bennett Raglin/BET/Getty Images)

#DonLemonOn - CNN news anchor Don Lemon is known to be brashly unapologetic about his comments, no matter how controversial. Last November, Lemon became the inspiration of a new hashtag following his support of the New York Police Department's use of stop and frisk. Using this initial comment as ammunition, the Twitter community created their own commentary on how Lemon might address issues like segregation, slavery and more. Thus, #DonLemonOn was born.(Photo: Cindy Ord/Getty Images for ADCOLOR Awards)

#BeyonceThinkPieces - Beyoncé does nothing on a small scale, so when she dropped her surprise self-titled album on December 13, 2013, unbeknown to anyone, social media went into a frenzy. Once the media noticed how much of a hot topic the project was, several think-pieces and overly critical op-eds were written about the bold project, criticizing Beyoncé's every lyric, dance move and costume change. Once Twitter caught wind of how out of hand this was becoming, the hashtag #BeyonceThinkPieces was created.(Photo: Kevin Mazur /Chime For Change/Getty Images for Gucci/Getty Images for Gucci)

#PromBat - Rihanna's personality is arguably just as famous as she is. Therefore, when social media caught wind of the Bajan singer's harsh reaction to one of her fan's prom looks — which was inspired by a green ensemble the pop star wore in 2010 — no one was surprised. Rih Rih posted her young admirer's photo alongside her red carpet photo with the words "IG/Real Life" embossed across the images captioned with a sad face, and the hashtag #PromBat. Following the posting several of the singer's fans, admirers, and critics lashed out against her unfiltered ways.(Photo: Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images)
