Malcolm Butler - With stars such as Tom Brady, Darrelle Revis, Russell Wilson, Marshawn Lynch and Richard Sherman, who would have ever thought that the decisive play in Super Bowl XLIX would come from a rookie? New England Patriots strong safety Malcolm Butler shocked the Seattle Seahawks by jumping a route and intercepting Wilson's pass intended for Ricardo Lockette, locking up the Pats' 28-24 Super Bowl win. With that, Butler catapulted his name into the national spotlight.(Photo: EPA/ERIK S. LESSER /LANDOV)

Larry Brown - Larry Brown earned his five-year, $12.5 million deal with the Oakland Raiders in 1996 following his Super Bowl XXX MVP performance with the Dallas Cowboys in 1995. Now, $12.5 million doesn't sound like much in the sports world, but the contract proved to be costly for Oakland. Brown only played 12 games over two seasons at defensive back for the Raiders. Larry Brown - Larry Brown's two second-half interceptions in Super Bowl XXX helped the Dallas Cowboys preserve a 27-17 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1996. Brown also became the first cornerback to ever win Super Bowl MVP. Not bad for a 12th-round draft pick. (Photo: Mike Powell/Getty Images)

Desmond Howard - Nobody saw it coming when Desmond Howard returned a kick off 99 yards for a then Super Bowl record in Super Bowl XXXI in 1997. The unbelievable play helped lead the Green Bay Packers to a 35-21 win over the New England Patriots and Howard became the first special teams player to win Super Bowl MVP. Brett Favre and Reggie White were on that Packers squad. (Photo: Al Bello/Getty Images)

Santonio Holmes - Santonio Holmes had a solid 2008 season, but the Pittsburgh Steelers were known for their defense more than offense. Super Bowl XLIII against the Arizona Cardinals back in 2009 even included a 100-yard interception return for a touchdown by Steelers linebacker James Harrison. That's what made Holmes's splashy nine catches for 131 yards and a touchdown unlikely...not to mention spectacular. His toe-dragging game-winning TD grab to stay in bounds remains one of the most thrilling catches in Super Bowl history.(Photo: Jamie Squire/Getty Images)

Deion Branch - Deion Branch was a decent wideout for the New England Patriots during the 2004 season, hauling in 35 receptions for 454 yards and four touchdowns. But who would have thought that Branch would explode for 11 catches and 133 yards? Possibly not even Branch himself. His effort helped the Pats edge the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX back in 2005.(Photo: Brian Bahr/Getty Images)
