Mario Van Peebles - The son of pioneering film director Melvin Van Peebles, Mario directed and starred in Posse as head bandit Jesse Lee. Mario, whose film career spans over 40 years, is as equally known for his work behind the camera as he is for acting in front of one. Besides classics like 1991's New Jack City and 2003's Baadasssss, he's recently helmed and starred in We the Party and the 50 Cent-led film Things Fall Apart. Stephen Baldwin - The younger brother of actor Alec Baldwin, Stephen was cast as Little J, the token Caucasian of Jesse's crew. The film veteran's acting résumé hasn't made him as huge as his big brother, but Stephen has starred in hit flicks like The Usual Suspects (1995) and The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas (2000). Billy Zane - Actor Billy Zane landed the role of the posse's nemesis, Colonel Graham. For almost 30 years, Zane has been known for playing diabolical characters, his most famous being Caledon "Cal" Hockley in the 1999 blockbuster Titanic. Tone Lōc - Late '80s rap star Tone Lōc played the part of posse member Angel. Famous for his 1988 hit rap song "Wild Thing," Tone, like many pop rappers of his time, also found steady TV and film roles. He landed a part in the crime classic Heat, as well as a reoccuring role on the TV series Thieves and Roc. Melvin Van Peebles - Trailblazing director Melvin Van Peebles starred in Posse as Jesse's former mentor Papa Joe. After setting off the Blaxploitation film era with 1971's Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song, Melvin has maintained an illustrious Hollywood career. In 2013, he starred in the comedy Peeples as Grandpa Peeples. Big Daddy Kane - Around the time of his role as the gambler Father Time in Posse, the legendary rap artist appeared partially nude in Playgirl magazine and in Madonna's photo book Sex, sending his music career into decline. Unable to cross over into acting, Kane landed bit roles in a handful of forgettable films like the comedy Meteor Man and Dead Heist. In 2012, he made a cameo appearance as himself in You're Nobody 'til Somebody Kills You and is set to star in the upcoming thriller Daughter of God later this year. Blair Underwood - Before playing Sheriff Carver, Blair Underwood was building his rep as one of Hollywood's sexiest men, starring on the hit TV drama L.A. Law. The Golden Globe-nominated actor appeared on the hit series Sex and the City and he played the president on the short-lived TV drama The Event. He also went on to star in the Broadway revival of A Streetcar Named Desire. Salli Richardson-Whitfield - Salli Richardson-Whitfield portrayed Papa Joe's sexy daughter, Lana. The veteran actress finally broke away from her big-screen vixen image when she starred in the unsung classic Antwone Fisher. Salli has garnered steady and notable work in films like I Am Legend and TV series like Eureka. She has also appeared in several other major series including The Newsroom, Castle and NCIS. Pam Grier - The character Phoebe was played by film trailblazer Pam Grier, whose body of work dates back to the heyday of Blaxploitation in the '70s. Grier continued to be a Hollywood heavyweight actor, starring on the hit cable series The L Word from 2004 to 2009.
