Class Warfare: When XXL Freshmen Clash

Everyone's fair game in this school of hard knocks.

Yelawolf vs. Machine Gun Kelly - In the cypher at the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards, Yela rhymed, "Plenty of white boys to pick from this year/But before you pick a pepper you better pick up your heater." Kelly took offense, saying "I think that was about me" in a radio interview. Yela responded that MGK was being "sensitive," but warned, "If you want it, come get it." Kelly later played the beef down, saying "I don't think hip hop needs that."(Photos: John Ricard/BET; Bennett Raglin/Getty Images)
Danny Brown vs. Mac Miller - Don't expect a collab between 2012 alumn Danny Brown and 2011's Mac Miller anytime soon. Brown told Rolling Stone, "He's the worst guy around. Don't get me started... If I see him, I'm just going to have to apologize to him, like, 'Man, I just want to apologize for hating you so much. Because I'm not going to stop. You're probably a cool guy. I don't feel violent in any way, but I really hate you. I hate your music, man.'"(Photos: WENN.com; Frank Micelotta/PictureGroup)
Freddie Gibbs vs. Lil B - 2010 Freshman Freddie Gibbs took shots at his 2011 counterpart at a show in Brooklyn, calling his music wack. Gibbs later explained that it wasn't personal — he just didn't like the Based God's music. B brushed off the beef, saying he had "love" for Gibbs.(Photos: Roger Kisby/Getty Images; Isaac Brekken/Getty Images)
Freddie Gibbs vs. Wale - The outspoken Gibbs called out both Wale and Big Sean in an interview with Complex, labeling them "f*******g weirdos...You don't know what the f**k they are. I'm a gangsta rapper. That s--t is just like if you had a box in here of s**t you didn't want, it was just miscellaneous s**t, that's where you'd throw them n****s. It's a box of lost and found s**t." Gibbs' swipes at Wale at the time, at least, may have been motivated by their alliances, as Freddie was down with Young Jeezy, who'd long clashed with Wale's Maybach Music Group boss Rick Ross.(Photos: Roger Kisby/Getty Images; John Ricard/BET)Freddie Gibbs vs. Big Sean - Gibbs later squashed things with Big Sean, telling Gunrule TV, "I don't got no problem with him....we're just in two different lanes."(Photos: Johnny Nunez/WireImage/Getty Images; John Amis/PictureGroup)
