Less Is More

Sign of Maturity - We won't tell you when, but at some point, you’ll want to toss or at least set aside the heavy liners, eye colors and other over-the-top choices for special occasions. Scaling down means that you may be growing up, which isn’t a bad thing. (Photo: Wavebreak Media Ltd./Corbis)

You Have More Free Time - To be over-the-top takes time — a lot of it. The “less is more” routine will cut down on the amount of time and effort that it takes to get ready. Figure out how to enhance your natural beauty without covering it up. We love tinted moisturizers for some cover up without the foundation. It will even out your skin and tone down any blemishes. Do Your Research - Celebs have stylists, hairdressers and makeup artists who can make them under at the drop of a hat. We do not. So if you are looking to tone down your look, do your research. Talk to a stylist at a department store, go to a makeup counter — talk to the experts about the look you want to achieve and try, test and try again their recommendations until you find perfection.
