The Ex-Files: Artists Open Up on Wax
Because heartache isn't heartache until it hits the web.

Bye Bye Love - “Get my name out your mouth!” is probably the most normal thing to say to an ex after a breakup. Talking about your exes can be petty, sometimes corny, other times (depending on the amount of time) endearing. In the case of Tyga, it's really odd. Lately the rapper has been going around saying Kylie overshadowed his talent. Hmm. Plus, Iggy Azalea broke off her engagement to Nick Young. While she made it public on social media, will this spark a new track of heartache? Who knows. Tyga and Kylie Jenner - The reality star and rapper broke up a couple of weeks ago and Tyga is out here letting the world know what he’s feeling. In an interview, Tyga stated, “When you’re in a very public relationship like that, it’s hard for other people to see you differently than that. Being in that, it took a lot, career-wise, everything. It overshadowed a lot of my talents and a lot of things that I worked hard for.” Oddly enough his last mixtape, F*k What They Talkin Bout, featured bars about his sex life with Kylie and two of the videos for the mixtape (“Stimulated” and “Dope’d Up”) featured the reality star pretty heavily. Jordin Sparks and Sage the Gemini - It was reported by sources that Jordin Sparks and rapper Sage the Gemini had split up. While the reason why is unclear, days later Sage would upload "I'll Keep Loving You" to his Soundcloud page and wrote a very heartfelt Instagram post. With "Tell all your exes be gone, just come home, because it's all here" and "Tell all your ex-boyfriends be gone," the cause of their break-up seems to point to other exes coming out of the woodwork.Still, this is one sad ex on wax. Ciara and Future - Future and Ciara’s split was less than amicable. And after all this time (and even with a kid), they are still at odds. Ciara just filed a $15 million lawsuit against Future to stop slandering her name. She may have a case. Future has been outspoken in interviews with Elliott Wilson and The Breakfast Club. Oh yeah, and on Twitter. He’s even addressed the past relationship (non-scandalously) on wax in “Just Like Bruddas.”(Photo: Kevin Tachman/Getty Images)

Janet Jackson and René Elizondo - First of all, the world found out these two were married for 13 years when René filed for divorce, which he commented on by saying, "We just started going in separate directions. It seemed like in the last year, we became business and creative partners only.”Janet has kept mum over the years about her relationship with Elizondo but threw some casual shade when recording her 2001 release All For You. On the track “Truth,” Janet sings, “Arguing ain't necessary 'cause we both have our whole lives left to live / We're both consumed with jealousy but the truth can set you free...”(Photo: Jim Smeal/WireImage)

Vivica A. Fox and 50 Cent - These guys have gone to town on one another over the years. Whoops. They dated for one year in 2003 and they still seem to be very hung up on their relationship. This week, Vivica told an interviewer that her ex looked like a “booty snatcher” on an old cover of XXL. 50 Cent fired back, of course, with a stream of Instagram posts that were “fetty” — funny AND petty.(Photo: Evan Agostini/Getty Images)

Usher and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas - These guys were a match made in R&B heaven. They dated for only two years, breaking up in 2003. A lot of people thought that Usher’s Confessions album was about his breakup with the TLC singer, even that he’d cheated and gotten another girl pregnant. Chilli set those rumors straight, “All of those songs on Confessions, that was about Jermaine Dupri's situation. Usher was just singing it. But people kind of bought into it. It was just the timing of our breakup when the album came out.” She even said, “He was that real love for me.” Now that’s sweet. (Photo: Keith Bedford/Getty Images)

Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo - This pop star pairing let the flame burn out completely in 2014. While the details of their breakup from both sides differ completely, it didn’t stop Jordin Sparks from telling her side of the story on Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club. There, she claimed that the BMW Jason had gifted her was actually a leased car she had to give back. That accusation was followed by an Instagram post from Jason of a picture of the bill. Ugh, this was corny. Jordin took the situation to the studio with her too when she recorded the slam "It Ain't You." (Photo: John Ricard/Getty Images for BET)

Robin Thicke and Paula Patton - Right at the heels of his Billboard chart hit “Blurred Lines,” Thicke’s personal life seemed to crumble under success. After almost 20 years of being together, Paula and Robin called it quits. It didn’t stop Robin from publicly making attempts to woo the actress and mother of his child back. An album titled Paula was released in 2014. Robin explained, “Obviously all the songs were about her or about how I feel about her.” The album was a far departure from "Blurred Lines," and a commercial flop, selling only 24,000 units. Kanye West and Amber Rose - Listen, you just don’t talk about Kim K. In the case of Amber, during a Twitter argument with Kim’s sister, Khloe, she referred to Kim as a whore. Kanye clapped back in a radio interview by saying, “She's just soaking in the moment. If Kim had dated me when I wanted, there would be no Amber Rose.” Ouch. But remember back when Ye was pining in his music? While Ye flip flops on whether tracks like "Runaway" were about Rose ("Heartless" was a whole other thing), she still did tug at his heart strings at one point in time. That time is clearly not now, though. (Photo: Stefania D'Alessandro/Getty Images)
