Celebrity Lawsuits of 2014 - Celebrities were feeling particularly litigious in 2014. From Nicki Minaj's defense against her former wigmaker to Iggy Azalea using the legal system to protect herself from a spiteful ex, here's a rundown of the year in A-list lawsuits. Tracy Morgan vs. Wal-Mart - After a fatal car accident on the New Jersey Turnpike that left one person dead and Morgan critically injured, the comedian decided to sue the mega-retailer for negligence (Wal-Mart's truck is the vehicle that initiated the six car pileup). The big box giant's attempt to shift the blame back to Morgan for not wearing a seatbelt was met with outrage on social media, but we'll have to wait until next year to see what a jury thinks. Nicki Minaj - Earlier this year, Nicki's former wig-maestro sued the rap diva to the tune of $30 million for stealing his designs and bailing on a planned joint reality show. In September, a judge shut down his case for lack of sufficient evidence. Looks like the secrets of Nicki's hair are safe for now. (Photo: Optic Photos, PacificCoastNews.com)

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West - Kimye usually takes pride in sharing every aspect of their lives on social media, but when YouTube founder Chad Hurley posted a video from Kanye's over-the-top proposal to Kim at San Francisco's AT&T Park without their permission, the couple were quick to file suit. In March, Hurley asked the court to dismiss the suit, pointing out that none of the media outlets that reposted the video had been asked to take it down, thereby claiming the Kardashian machine was suing him simply for the publicity. Tyler Perry - If lawsuits were verses, Tyler Perry would be the Jay Z of litigation. The media mogul found himself on both sides of the courtroom this year, twice as a defendant — in a suit accusing him of conspiring with government officials to take over a military base to expand is Tyler Perry Studios and for allegedly stealing the idea for his show The Haves and the Have Nots — and once as the plaintiff in a suit he filed against an aspiring actor who broke into his studio to stalk him. Kesha and Dr. Luke - Things turned very ugly between the "Tik Tok" singer and her former mentor after she got out of rehab and sued Luke for putting her there. Kesha claims the super producer mentally and sexually abused her and refused to let her out of her contract. In response, Luke countersued Kesha and her mother, claiming extortion. Needless to say, these two will no longer be making music together.

Justin Bieber - This year alone, the Biebs has been sued not once, not twice, but three times for assaulting as many paparazzi. The troubled singer can't seem to keep his hands off of those pesky shutterbugs. This past March, he even got his on/off girlfriend Selena Gomez involved in the litigation when she was served to testify in a suit involving a photographer Bieber beat up while they were on a date in 2012. Shaquille O'Neal - When Jahmal Binion, a Detroit man suffering from ectodermal dysplasia — which causes abnormal hair growth, missing teeth and facial deformities — sued Shaq for mocking him on Instagram, the former NBA star admitted that his actions were cruel, but not illegal. In his suit, Binion claimed invasion of privacy, intentional infliction of emotional distress, defamation and general negligence. (Photo: Shaquille O'neal via Instagram)

Chris Brown - Breezy's legal burdens got a lot lighter this year for the bargain price of $100,000. In October the singer settled two lawsuits, one with the man he allegedly sucker punched outside of a Washington, D.C., hotel and the other with Frank Ocean's cousin Chris for their altercation over a parking spot. Columbus Short - The former Scandal star not only faced criminal prosecution for sucker-punching a guy in a sports bar earlier this year, but was sued this past June by the victim who he left bloodied and unconscious with his fist. To add insult to injury, after agreeing to settle with the man, Short later had to admit in court that he couldn't pay after losing that steady Scandal paycheck. (Photo: David Buchan/Getty Images)

A$AP Rocky - Things can get wild at a hip hop show, but they might have gotten a little out of hand at Rocky's performance at a Philadelphia music festival last year. A woman sued the rapper in October, claiming he slapped her in a "brutal and unprovoked manner" while making his way through the crowd. Rocky denied the claim, saying instead that the woman likely got roughed-up by other concertgoers. (Photo: © PacificCoastNews)

Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams - There may be some "Blurred Lines" about the origins of Thicke and Williams' mega-hit. The family of R&B legend Marvin Gaye claim the superstars stole huge chunks of Gaye's song "Got to Give It Up" and repurposed it for their chart topper. A judge seems to think Gaye's kin at least have a case — he rejected Thicke and Williams' appeal to dismiss the case and is sending it to trial. Iggy Azalea - The Australian pop star had a breakthrough year, but her past came back to haunt her. Just as "Fancy" started topping the charts, Jefe Wine, a former boyfriend of Iggy's, started releasing never-before-heard tracks the rapper recorded before she became famous, claiming he had an agreement allowing him to do so. What's more, the ex claimed he also had the rights to sell a sex tape he made with Iggy when they were dating. Iggy and her team promptly filed suit against the offender, claiming that the agreement was forged and that Wine illegally downloaded the contents of Iggy's computer. Marlon Wayans - Like Shaq, Wayans was sued for making fun of someone on social media. Pierre Daniel, an actor who landed a bit part in Wayans's hit spoof A Haunted House 2, sued for racial discrimination and harassment after the comedy star posted a pic of Daniel alongside one of Cleveland Brown from The Cleveland Show and invited his followers to make the comparison. Daniel claims he was cyber-bullied by Wayans and the jab caused him serious pain, anxiety and killed his career as an actor. Well, that sounds like a stretch, but either way, this should be a lesson to celebs to pick on someone their own size. (Photo: Andrew H. Walker/Getty Images)

Damon Dash and Lee Daniels - The former Roc-A-Fella head sued Daniels in September for profits from his films, including Precious and The Butler. Why would Dame be entitled to a piece of Daniels's coin? Because, he claims, Daniels convinced him to roll over the losses he incurred on the The Woodsman, in which Dash says he invested $2 million, into the director's other projects. Trouble is, the only account of the agreement is Dash's word. These two heavyweights will have to fight this one out in court. (Photos from Left: Theo Wargo/Getty Images, Mike Coppola/Getty Images)
