Crossing the Line

When significant others get caught up in rap crossfire.

Crossing the Line - Rap is a contact sport, and sometimes loved ones get caught up in the crossfire. In a recent radio interview, Compton upstart Kendrick Lamar had some not-so-nice words for Kanye West's rumored flame, Kim Kardashian. "Nah, that's worn out," Kendrick said when asked on SoCal's 99.1 KGGI if he would ever get with the starlet. "Kim K? Nah. I don't wanna go behind that. Kanye, he havin' fun with it right now." K-Dot's words may have been tongue in cheek, but Kanye is notoriously super-sensitive. Still, it wouldn't be the first time a rappers' significant other ended up as collateral damage in hip hop's nonstop game of verbal one-upsmanship. Tupac/Faith Evans - After the infamous pic of a tipsy-looking Faith Evans hanging out with 2Pac, the rival of her hubby Notorious B.I.G., leaked, 'Pac took full advantage on his volcanic 1996 diss track "Hit 'Em Up." "You claim to be a player but I f----d your wife," he rapped. Furthermore, the song's video also featured a mocking impersonator of Lil' Kim, who Biggie had been dating for years on the low.(Photo: Courtesy Death Row Records)

Game/Beyoncé - Game's had a long-running, and mostly one-sided beef, with Jay-Z. At a 2009 stage in Madrid, the Compton MC yelled, "F--k Jay-Z," before launching into a freestyle with the following choice words for Hov's superstar wife:This isn’t about BThis isn’t about DestinyI’m in Madrid banging the c-p-tYou got a bad b---h word,Ain’t no p---y like hers,Just ask the Mavericks, Rockets and the Spurs(Photos from left: Scott Gries/Getty Images, CWNY/FameFlynet Pictures)

Game/Amber Rose - Game's no stranger to crossing the line though. Jayceon has chin-checked eternal arm candy Amber Rose repeatedly, both during her relationship with Kanye West and her current one with Wiz Khalifa. "I'ma give [Kanye] some advice, get rid of Amber Rose,'" he rapped on 2009's "I'm So Wavy." Then, last year, he name-dropped Wiz and Amber, saying he'd like to "taste a little taste."(Photos from left: Frank Micelotta/PictureGroup,  UPI/Jim Ruymen /LANDOV)

Lil Wayne/Beyoncé - Weezy followed in Game's footsteps with last year's "It's Good." Responding to Jay's thinly veiled potshot at Baby on "H.A.M.," Wayne rapped, "Talkin ’bout baby money? I got your baby money, Kidnap your b---h, get that ‘how much you love your lady’ money." That's not nice, Tunechi.(Photos from left: Larry Busacca/Getty Images, HRC/WENN.com)

Cam'ron/Beyoncé - Cam was one of the first to use Beyoncé as ammo to attack Hov on 2006's "You Got It": "Beyoncé, fiancée?/ Check my second LP/ I might bring her back/That's your girl, that's your world/ Had the thing f-----g singing 'bout slinging crack."(Photos from left:  John Ricard/BET, WENN.com)

50 Cent/Kelis - Never one to mince words, 50 Cent got at his rival Nas on 2005's "Piggy Bank" by mocking his relationship with then-wife Kelis: "Kelis said her milkshake brings all the boys to the yard/Then Nas went and tattooed the b---h on his arm."(Photo: Courtesy Interscope Records)

50 v. Rick Ross - Hmmm. This is an interesting one. Because Rick Ross was "exposed" as a corrections officer and clowned in various 50 Cent-helmed Web videos, one might argue Ross lost. But actually, after the battle, Rick Ross's star power increased. His music has gotten better and his label, Maybach Music Group, is one of rap's hottest. 50 Cent's music and label, G Unit, on the other hand? Not so much. 50 SCORE: DRAW (Photos from left: Joe Kohen/Getty Images, Ryan Pierse/Getty Images)

50 Cent/Rick Ross' Baby Mama - Fif took his no-holds-barred approach to the next level in 2009 by leaking a sex tape featuring the baby mother of his arch nemesis Rick Ross online — and even narrating the entire 13-minute clip via his "Pimpin Curly" persona.(Photos from left: Joe Kohen/Getty Images, Ryan Pierse/Getty Images)

Jay-Z/Nas' Baby Mama - Maybe his rivals' multiple Beyoncé name-drops are karmic payback for Jay's own crossing-the-line moment on 2001's "Super Ugly." In response to Nas' scathing "Ether," Hov recounted his real-life affair with the mother of Esco's daughter in nauseating detail. Jay later apologized, saying even his own mother thought he had taken it too far. (Photos, from left: Nick Elgar/ImageDirect, Scott Gries/ImageDirect)
