Rebecca Crews Interview Recap

Highlights from our chat with "The Family Crews" mother.

Building the Brand\r - What's up with that talk show? "Right now we have 1 million-1.5 million viewers on [The Family Crews], and I’m getting a lot of offers—even book offers. I don’t doubt the talk show will come because it’s a lifelong dream to be a personality and within that framework, to tell other people’s stories."\r(Photo: Ben Rose/PictureGroup)

Spin-Off in the Works?\r - How do the kids handle being on TV? "I have one telling me that he doesn’t want to be on The Family Crews anymore. Bless his heart but he’s jealous of his television counterpart because my husband has another family on TV. So he watches his TV counterpart and he says, 'I want to be with dad.' So he gets a little upset." \r\r(Photo: Gregg DeGuire/PictureGroup)

My Motivation\r - What brought you back to the stage? "I’ll tell you who got me going on the theater tip was my daughter Azriel. When I saw Azriel going to school for theater, [it] totally blew me away. She fell in love with it in junior high and just became so amazing at it. It made me a little jealous. Like, “Wow, I love this and why don’t I do this?”\r \r(Photo: Mark Davis/PictureGroup

The Real Terry Crews - What's Terry really like? "Terry as a whole is a little bit of a shy person. People say that a lot about actors and that they are really shy in person. Terry is not the loudmouth that people think he is when he’s around us. He is a goofball, for sure. He’s like the biggest child in the house."(Photo: Evan Agostini/PictureGroup)

Mother's Day in Manhattan - What did you do for Mother's Day? "I went into New York with my husband and my three youngest kids. We stayed at the Ritz Carlton on Central Park and we shopped and had brunch at Sara Beth’s, which is this amazing restaurant four doors down. I had french toast with bananas and strawberries, like a big kid."

Looking for a Godly Man?\r - "My first advice to a woman seeking a Godly man is to just be the woman you need to be in order to attract that kind of man. Sometimes we want to be the woman who gets the guy, but we need to be the woman the guy gets. In other words, he’s got to see you."\r(Photo: Mark Davis/Picturegroup)

Goodbye, L.A. Hello, CT - "My favorite time of the year is summer and I loved Los Angeles because of its weather. I was very disappointed to be moving to where it would be cold, rainy, wet and gray. I don’t like gray weather… I’m, like, prone to depression [laughs]. I don’t want to be in dark, gloomy weather. However, Connecticut is very sunny—even in the winter."(Photo: www.directhomes.com)

My Source of Strength - "Read your Bible and pray. I know that sounds very cliché, but I built my life on discipline. Discipline of the flesh is hard for me. I work out but I don’t work out as hard as my husband does. I am a discipliner of my spirit and my soul and my thoughts."(Photo: Brad Barket/PictureGroup)

Encore Performance? - "We are looking into that. I have connections with people at George’s [Faison] theater and we are looking into some places where I can do summer performances. All I need is a piano and me."(Photo: Ben Rose/PictureGroup)
