XOXO Marks the Spot - The first lady's first kiss with her future husband has been memorialized with a special plaque in a Chicago shopping center marking the event. "Our first date, I treated her to the finest ice cream Baskin-Robbins had to offer, our dinner table doubling as the curb. I kissed her, and it tasted like chocolate," reads an inscription of a quote from President Obama that originally appeared in O, The Oprah Magazine. (Photo: AP Photo/Charles Rex Arbogast)

Feels Like Home - During a rare joint campaign appearance with her husband, Obama paid homage to Iowa voters, recalling her first fried Twinkie and campaign event in the Buckeye State. "Regardless of what party you're from, regardless of how you felt about us, you have shown us so much love. And you don't understand how important that was for me because Iowa was my very first experience with a national campaign. And because of you all, this state, the people in this state, our girls still think campaigning is fun," she said. (Photo: Scott Olson/Getty Images)

Her View - Obama appeared on The View on Aug. 14 where she talked about racism and the presidential campaign. "Racism is still an issue in this country and Barack Obama is president. This country put him in office," she said, adding that the negative campaign ads don't bother her or daughters Malia and Sasha. "It's the nature of the beast," she said. (Photo: ABC)

Surprise! - The first lady paid an unannounced visit on Aug. 11 to the Medical Center of Aurora where victims of last month's Colorado movie-theater shootings are still recovering from their injuries. Obama also shook hands with members of the medical staff who lined up in a conference room to meet her. She was in town for a fund-raising event at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver.
