Drake, Meek Mill and Countess Vaughn’s Big Week & Other Music News

We got all the crazy from this week in one place.

A Week of Waiting - Thank goodness for yet another week filled with music news. Don’t worry, we’ll recap for you. 2016 has already revealed itself to be a great year for new releases by big artists and we got news of another finished album — no, it’s not Frank Ocean’s. No new developments in the Drake vs. Joe Budden story, but Joe goes for a win this week and it doesn’t involve taking a stab at Drake. There wasn’t a plethora of shady moments, but thanks to a pop star, the #TaylorSwiftIsOver party gets extended a little bit. Don’t mind the social media confusion of a Snapchatter or the reappearance of two hip-hop villains. – Jon Reyes(Photo: BET)

Another Gold Star Week for Drizzy - There’s really no way around it – Drake had all of our attention this week. Don’t worry, this week’s round up isn’t all about our favorite Canadian rapper. A ‘90s sitcom star also brought it this week with an epic music video, so we got you covered on the new music front. Politically things are just as wonky as they were the week before, but two music artists are trying to make lemonade out of the sour election lemon. Social media is still bringing out the worst in artists and fans – but we forgive the messiness, because like one artist said: it’s biological at times. Get your train pass ready because we’re off. – Jon Reyes

Drake’s Best Week - Let’s give it up to Drake, don’t be haters. He’s fronting the BET Hip-Hop Awards nominations with a whopping 14. But the rapper has been winning since he brought out Eminem for his tour stop in Detroit. What does it mean for the Joe Budden beef? It’s unclear, much like the beef itself, because all Joe had to say was that he was “grateful.”(Photo: Bob Levey/Getty Images)

YG on the Political Front - In this week’s rappers doing good portion: YG’s new tour called "F**k Donal Trump" will donate some of the proceeds to families who’ve been affected by police brutality. Can we please give it up to YG?(Photos from left: Jonathan Moore/Getty Images for adidas, Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images)

John the OG - Mr. Legend was out here dropping some knowledge on the upcoming presidential election and the GOP nominee. What’s funny is that he’s making more sense than our elected officials in Congress.(Photos from left: Mike Windle/Getty Images for Spike TV, Tom Pennington/Getty Images)

This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things - Tyga hasn’t had the best couple of weeks thanks to some financial woes, but the crazy ladies outside of a club telling him – someone they don’t even know – about himself? Go home. Stick to memes.(Photo: Rob Kim/Getty Images)

A Biology Lesson - Azealia Banks apologized this week. For what? Here, because we’re starting to lose track. If an Azealia Banks apology isn’t exhausting by itself, coupling it with a biology lesson makes it all the way worse.(Photo: John Sciulli/Getty Images for Nasty Gal)

What? - We end this with an edition of “what the hell are you saying?” Meek Mill finally spoke up about his 2015 beef with Drake. Basically, he talks about his life being good even after losing the internet rap battle. Meek also took a shot at internet users with, "It’s a world of cowards where people get behind a computer and type anything." It’s a strange assessment, considering that Meek Mill beefs have started over his feeling a way about rappers not tweeting in support of his album. So we say: “Um, what, Meek?”(Photo: Marcus Ingram/Getty Images for Bacardi)
