No, You Can't - Obama hoped to get in some rounds at one of New York's tony golf clubs Labor Day weekend while in town for fundraising events there and in Rhode Island. His wish was rejected, however, by Trump National Golf Club, Winged Foot and Willow Ridge, WNBC reports. Part of the problem is the clubs were not given enough notice. It's also one of the busiest weekends and it was wiser to disappoint the president than to displace members who pay tens of thousands of dollars in membership fees. Another Vote Against Obamacare - On Sept. 11, the House took its 53rd stab at reforming or repealing Obamacare. In a 247-167 vote that included the support of 25 Democrats, the chamber passed a measure to allow consumers to stay on previously canceled health insurance plans until 2019. The White House says the bill would "reverse the progress made to extend quality, affordable coverage to millions of uninsured, hardworking, middle class families" and that Congress "should work with the administration to improve the law and move forward." Condemning Obama - On Sept. 9, the House voted to condemn the president for not giving lawmakers 30-day notice about the exchange of American prisoner Bowe Bergdahl for five Taliban leaders being held at Guantanomo bay. The measure passed by a vote of 249-163, with the help of 22 Democrats in tough races. "By setting free five top Taliban commanders from U.S. custody, the Obama administration made America less safe," said House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio). Oops a Daisy! - South Carolina Rep. James Clyburn, the third-most powerful Democrat in the House, isn't afraid to admit that he's not the hippest dude. "What the heck is Throwback Thursday?" he once asked BET.com. So, it's no surprise he's not up on all of the social media jargon. During a Labor Day weekend appearance on C-SPAN, he spoke about using all available tools to start a massive get-out-the-vote movement. "We've got great tools to communicate about everything else. Feeling Let Down - Documentarian Michael Moore is not mincing words when expressing his disappointment in Obama. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Mediaite reports Moore said the president has been a disappointment who will be remembered for the color of his skin. "When the history is written of this era, this is how you’ll be remembered: ‘He was the first black president.’ Okay, not a bad accomplishment, but that’s it. That’s it, Mr. Obama,'" Moore said.
