Phil Jackson Hasn't Heard From 'Melo, But Remains Confident - Phil Jackson has texted Carmelo Anthony in recent days without receiving any response. However, when push comes to shove, the New York Knicks' president firmly believes that Melo will remain a Knick. "We’re waiting,” Jackson told the New York Daily News on Thursday after watching a Knicks’ summer-league practice in Las Vegas. “I felt really good about my conversation with Carmelo (last Thursday in Los Angeles). We really struck a chord. The two of us feel really passionately about what we’re trying to get accomplished. It’s his ability to stay, be patient, lead and watch us develop a winner.” The Knicks have offered Melo a five-year $129 million deal, which is $33 million more than any other NBA squad can offer him.(Photos from left: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images, Harry How/Getty Images)

LeBron James Flies Back to Miami With Wade - LeBron James and Dwyane Wade spent the day at the LeBron James Skills Academy in Las Vegas before flying to Miami on Thursday night. However, according to ESPN, their trip back to Miami shouldn't be a sign of where King James will be playing next season. His former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, are posing the biggest threat to the Miami Heat of re-acquiring James's services. Heat president Pat Riley met with James's agent, Rich Paul, on Wednesday. Judge Recesses Sterling-Clippers Case for Two Weeks - The Sterlings-Los Angeles Clippers trial was given a two-week recess by Superior Court Judge Michael Levanas on Thursday, according to ESPN. Reason being — Donald Sterling's lawyers had plans for a vacation and a wedding anniversary, forcing Levanas to set the next hearing for July 21 with the closing arguments now set for July 28. Shelly Sterling's lawyers had originally requested that the sale of the Clippers could be approved by the NBA Board of Governors by July 15 and closed by September 15. If it's not made finalized by September 15, the NBA has the right to auction the franchise. This trial is supposed to determine whether Shelly Sterling properly followed the bylaws of the Sterling Family Trust in selling the Clippers to ex-Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer for $2 billion in late May.(Photo: CSM /Landov)

Michael Crabtree Holds Tongue About Sherman - Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman reiterated his dislike for Michael Crabtree earlier this week. But the San Francisco 49ers wide receiver isn't interested in engaging in a war of words with the outspoken Sherman. "I'm getting (tired) talking about these guys," Crabtree said on ESPN's NFL Live on Thursday. "I concentrate on football. I love football. This my life, you know what I'm saying? So, I don't really have too much to prove when it comes to talking on this TV." However, he did hurl a sibliminal shot Sherman's way via social media earlier in the day, tweeting: "I want to tweet something gangsta, but I'll keep it PG-13.." Crabtree and Sherman will face off twice in a three-week span during the 2014 NFL season, when the 49ers meet the Seahawks on November 27th and December 14th.&nbs...

Hot Mess - Despite bright talent on the field, there was apparently some truly disgusting behavior exhibited by players invited to the NFL's Combine scouting camp back in February. According to reports, two players, one rumored to be a first round pick at next week's NFL Draft, trashed their hotel room by scattering feces and urine around the bathroom and half-eaten food on the beds, among other transgressions. (Photo: NFL)

LeBron James Meets With Heat, No Decision Yet - LeBron James finally met with Miami Heat president Pat Riley and team officials Wednesday, but left without a decision, sources told ESPN. Hairston has been charged with assault and battery stemming from an altercation during a pickup basketball game Sunday in Durham, North Carolina, USA Today is reporting. Kentrell Barkley, a 17-year-old high school senior, alleges that Hairston “punched him twice in the head” during a heated basketball game at the Durham YMCA. Hairston’s reaction? "I want to apologize to the Hornets organization and our fans for creating this distraction," Hairston said in a statement released by the Hornets. "As this is now a legal matter, I cannot comment on the situation any further. I am truly sorry for any embarrassment that I have caused." Hairston was selected by the Miami Heat ...

Heat Add Danny Granger, Josh McRoberts - Just last month, Pat Riley vowed to “retool” the Miami Heat. Well, the Heat president has hit the ground running on that promise. On Monday, the Heat added free agents Josh McRoberts and Danny Granger. McRoberts, a 6-10 power forward who averaged 8.5 points and 4.8 rebounds for the Charlotte Bobcats this past season, agreed to a four-year deal worth $23 million with Miami. Meanwhile, Granger agreed to a two-year, $4.2 million deal with the Heat, according to ESPN. Granger, a former all-star who, at one point, averaged nearly 26 points per game, hasn’t been the same player following knee injuries but is still serviceable. The 6-foot-9 small forward averaged 8.2 points per game this past season, playing for both the Indiana Pacers and Los Angeles Clippers.   (Photos from Left: Michael Hickey/Getty Images, Streeter Lecka/Getty Images)

Judge Denies Sterling's Bid to Move Trial - The trial to decide the validity of the $2 billion sale of the Los Angeles Clippers began Monday in Los Angeles. One problem, though. Banned owner Donald Sterling wasn’t present. "He was not here today because our expectation was that it would take some time to get a decision from the federal court and we didn't want to have him come down here and put him on in this environment," Sterling’s attorney Bobby Samini told ESPN on Monday. "I don't think it was an unreasonable position to take." The attorney for Shelly Sterling countered by suggesting a bench warrant be issued for her husband. Although Sterling wasn’t present for the trial’s opening day, a federal court judge rejected his legal team’s motion to move the case from California probate court to federal court. This trial will decide whether Shelly Sterling proper...

Rockets Pursuing Chris Bosh - The Houston Rockets are reportedly “heavily engaged” in trying to get Chris Bosh to leave the Miami Heat via free agency, according to ESPN. Bosh is reportedly waiting on LeBron James to decide what he’s going to do, before making a decision himself. Perhaps the Rockets courting Bosh also spells that they've given up on the hope of Carmelo Anthony joining them as a free agent. Melo met with the Rockets last Wednesday. Bosh and Dwyane Wade — both represented by the same agent — will each weigh their options separately. (Photo: Mike McGinnis/CSM /Landov)

Could that slump be a reason why the Pacers are reportedly shopping the 7-foot-2 center? According to CBS Sports, Indiana is quietly eyeing a way to move the big man. (Photo: Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images)
